Magnia’s crush on Adillo is absolutely the funniest thing to me it’s so fucking dumb
Adillo tolerated her (barely) once, helped her out another time, and suddenly Magnia is as infatuated as a teenager can possibly be and she has no idea what her feelings are doing or why.
All she knows is that she wants Adillo to like her, but has no idea how to get someone to like her. All her reflexive social responses are based on making people go away and stay away, so this is really fucking new and bewildering. It’s why the crush is so intense, and yet based on absolutely nothing concrete at all, and also why Magnia has absolutely no idea how to handle any of this.
[04:15] -- spiralingAscension [SA] Magnia geared herself up. The forest. The one place she had never gone back to in the whole of her land wanderings. She had land legs now. Something as stupid as a root wouldn't trip her up because she knew what gravity did on land now goddammit. She put her hands on her hips and strolled right in. It wasn't so bad! It wasn't so bad at all. The light of the moon shone through the leaves, which really was quite pretty. It reminded Magnia of the ocean surface. She smiled as she stepped forward, and a line pressed against her ankle. Swoosh! A net shot up past her eyes, and then further, dragging the rest of her with it. "AaaAAAAAAAAaaAAAaAA!"
[04:25] -- protegiParvo [PP] A scream. Adillo came to an halt on the path she was following through the forest, frowning lightly at the noise that disturbed her peace... She was on one of her regular forest walks, avoiding the city and all the trolls she kept running into there for a while... --
[04:26] -- protegiParvo [PP] She considered ignoring it, just move on, leave whoever to their fate... But her curiousity won over her and soon she found herself moving towards the noise. --
[04:29] -- protegiParvo [PP] What she did find however, wasn't exactly what she had expected... A fish in a net is generally something you'd find in the water after all. She looked up at Magnia, studying her silently, a light amusement in the look of her face. --
[04:38] -- spiralingAscension [SA] fuck fuck fuck fuck fUCK! Magnia flailed in the net, tangling herself further into it. The rope snagged on one of her fins, pulling at it painfully as she tried to detangle it. "Ow ow ow!" She stille --
[04:38] SA: d, trying to keep track of what was going on. There was definitely ways out of this. Hey she had a half a spear in her strife deck, she could cut her way doooown.... Magnia glanced at the ground which all of a sudden seemed very very far away. Very far. Someone was standing there, looking at her. Someone familiar- the girl with the bubble. Adillo. "Hey!" she snapped, trying not think about how far
[04:38] SA: away Adillo was while she was suspended all the way up in a tree. "What are you looking at!"
[04:40] -- protegiParvo [PP] shrugs lightly at her --
[04:40] PP: (+] you i guess [+)
[04:41] PP: (+] i didnt know you could put out net for fishes in the forest too [+)
[04:46] -- spiralingAscension [SA] Magnia's face turns purple and she thrashes for a moment before the net gives way just a bit. She squeaks as it does and immediately stops, grabbing onto the net. "Fuck you!" she gasped. "Don't fucking mock me." --
[04:48] -- protegiParvo [PP] Tilts her head up to her, then tilts her head to the other side, still looking quite amused. --
[04:48] PP: (+] its hard not to tho... the situation youre in is kinda funny [+)
[04:48] PP: (+] do you need help or something? [+)
[04:50] SA: no! no i dont!
[04:50] PP: (+] okaaay [+)
[04:50] PP: (+] if you say so [+)
[04:50] -- spiralingAscension [SA] she breathes very slightly. The ground is very far away. --
[04:51] -- protegiParvo [PP] sits down by the root of the tree, waiting patiently --
[04:51] -- protegiParvo [PP] is just going to sit here and watch her struggle. --
[05:02] -- spiralingAscension [SA] maybe you can cut the net. You do have half a spear in your strife deck. You summon it up, but it's not exactly a knife. It's an awkward cut. You're breathing way too hard right now. Are your hands shaking? Even half the spear is too long to properly work in the net. You make a few stabs at the net, one of which lands. which makes the net slip even further. You squeal and drop the spear. --
[05:02] SA: fuck!
[05:03] -- spiralingAscension [SA] you take a breath, and then another. Oh lordie you were going to die. --
[05:04] -- protegiParvo [PP] You follow the spear with your gaze as it fall to the ground, then back up to the struggling seadweller again. Yeah. She wasn't getting out of that anytime soon, was she? --
[05:07] -- spiralingAscension [SA] You're shaking. You're shaking. You can't stop! What the fuck! This is what it's like to be scared! Great! You're scared!! This was exactly the thing you didn't want to happen! --
[05:08] SA: @@@@@@@@@!!!!!
[05:12] -- protegiParvo [PP] Steps up from her place by the tree to pick up the spear off the ground, weighing it in your hands. --
[05:13] -- protegiParvo [PP] You were about to ask Magnia something, but you had this feeling she'd be unable to hear you over her own screaming. --
[05:19] -- spiralingAscension [SA] Screaming did not help. Screaming was not helping. You stop, take account of yourself. Yeah that's definitely shaking. Shaking. Shaking! You've forgotten about adillo to be quite honest. You take one gasp and then another, trying to breath properly as tears, tears! of all things!! bubble up in your eyes. --
[05:19] SA: get me out of here!!!
[05:19] -- spiralingAscension [SA] you smack your hands over your mouth. What if the person who put this trap came over here and found you? what if this person wanted to eat you too. --
[05:22] -- protegiParvo [PP] Oh god, you can barely believe what you're watching right now. Magnia is getting to a point of desperation, crying even. You even feel a little bit bad for her, it's pretty awkward really. --
[05:23] PP: (+] ok so like, if you keep moving around like that youll just make it worse for yourself just saying [+)
[05:29] -- spiralingAscension [SA] when adillo speaks, you remember she's still there. You hastily wipe your eyes and turn around to look at her. --
[05:29] SA: wh@t do i got to do?
[05:30] -- spiralingAscension [SA] you stare down at her, with your eyes open wide. --
[05:31] -- protegiParvo [PP] You sigh deeply, studying her for a while, then you move over to the tree and simply starts climbing it. It'd be easier to see what to do about the situation from up there anyway. --
[05:31] PP: (+] just like, stay still or whatever [+)
[05:33] -- spiralingAscension [SA] You stare as Adillo to climbs the tree, your eyes still watering. --
[05:33] SA: wh@t @re you doing? @re you gonn@ drop me?
[05:34] PP: (+] if i was gonna drop you id just cut the rope that keeps you up in the air stupid [+)
[05:35] PP: (+] i can reach that one from the ground [+)
[05:36] SA: ok@y ok@y
[05:36] -- protegiParvo [PP] you continue to climb, soon coming out on the branch the net is hanging from, where you sit with one foot on each side to keep yourself steady. It'd be tricky to get her down slowly from here, and if you got her up, could she even climb?? Jeesh. --
[05:37] -- spiralingAscension [SA] you sniffle as she keeps climbing. --
[05:37] SA: wh@t @re you going to do?
[05:38] PP: (+] im thinking. [+)
[05:41] -- protegiParvo [PP] you nudge the rope lightly, sitting the way you did you were far too unsteady to simply pull her up. So instead, you pick out your knife, put it in your mouth and slide down to her. --
[05:43] -- spiralingAscension [SA] rope creaks as she slids down to you and you clutch onto the net. --
[05:44] SA: oi!
[05:45] PP: (+] chill, the rope is made to carry way heavier beasts than you [+)
[05:46] -- protegiParvo [PP] you roll your eyes at her, climbing on the outside of the net, then you form the bubble around the two of you and simply step down onto the bottom of it where you start to cut her loose --
[05:48] -- spiralingAscension [SA] you gasp as she steps down off into the air. --
[05:49] SA: /the bubble/
[05:49] PP: (+] yeah? duh. i have to make it go away again so we can climb up from here tho just saying. [+)
[05:50] -- spiralingAscension [SA] you pay more attention to the fact she's standing on seemingly empty space than the fact she's cutting you free --
[05:50] -- protegiParvo [PP] continues to work your way through the net --
[05:50] SA: th@t's @- th@t's @ good ide@
[05:50] PP: (+] there, youre out. [+)
[05:53] -- spiralingAscension [SA] you can't help the squeak that falls out when you fall out of the net. It's not more than a foot drop and you scramble up unhurt. --
[05:53] SA: oh my god
[05:53] -- spiralingAscension [SA] you grab adillo in a quick hug then let go just as quickly --
[05:53] SA: oops
[05:54] -- spiralingAscension [SA] you look down then back up again, a little awkwardly. --
[05:54] SA: you sure you c@n't just lower this
[05:56] -- protegiParvo [PP] you hiss a bit at the contact, had she not let go of you as quickly as she did, you'd have shoved her away. --
[05:56] PP: (+] dont touch me. [+)
[05:56] PP: (+] yes im sure. ive tried. [+)
[05:58] -- protegiParvo [PP] you grab onto the rope, climbing up as far as you can reach inside the bubble, gesturing for Magnia to climb under you. It'd be easier for you to help her from above. You really did hope she At Least could climb a rope though. --
[06:02] -- spiralingAscension [SA] you give her an awkward finger gun, then grab onto the rope, hoisting yourself up. You've never climbed anything before, but you watch Adillo do it. You try not to think about how far away the ground is. --
[06:04] -- protegiParvo [PP] once she's on, the bubble go away, and you're quick to make your way back up to the branch. Once you're there, you nearly lay down on your stomach, wrapping your legs and one arm around it as you reach your free hand out to help Magnia once she's reached far enough --
[06:08] -- protegiParvo [PP] .. if she reach far enough... --
[06:09] -- spiralingAscension [SA] You crawl up the rope. You're strong you can climb, but every time you pull yourself up further away from the ground you find yourself shaking just a little more. Fucking. Fuck fuck fuck the surface. This wasn't a goddamn problem when you were swimming miles above the ocean floor. You reach up to Adillo's extended hand and snag it. --
[06:10] -- protegiParvo [PP] You huff a bit at the weight, but you help her up alright, up onto the branch in front of you. Now you just had to guide her down to the ground too huh. --
[06:17] -- spiralingAscension [SA] Adillo helps hoist you onto the tree branch and for a moment you don't let go of her hand. You grip the branch instead. You look down. --
[06:17] SA: ohhh sweet mercy
[06:17] PP: (+] its not that bad. [+)
[06:17] SA: fucking hell it's not!
[06:17] PP: (+] keep your eyes on the tree instead [+)
[06:18] SA: the tree is below me! @nd so is the ground!
[06:21] PP: (+] oh my god [+)
[06:22] -- protegiParvo [PP] you move backwards a bit on the branch, then you hoist yourself up on your feet, turning, and balance your way back to the trunk of the tree --
[06:22] PP: (+] c'mon [+)
[06:32] -- spiralingAscension [SA] stare at her as she bloody fucking gets up on her feet, a billion miles in the air and fucking walks to the trunk. You raise your eyebrows. --
[06:32] SA: like th@t??
[06:33] -- spiralingAscension [SA] you shake your head vehemently, then scooch along the branch with all four of your limbs clinging to it --
[06:34] -- protegiParvo [PP] well, you didn't expect her to start walking, but this slow scooching was kinda ridiculous. You lean to the trunk, waiting. --
[06:37] -- spiralingAscension [SA] you move at your own damn pace. Snail folk. You're a goddamn snail. Adillo could just fucking put up with it, as you inch to the trunk. You look back down at the ground. --
[06:37] SA: how the fuck @re we supposed to get b@ck down from here
[06:38] PP: (+] we go from one branch to the other til we are close enough to the ground to jump. [+)
[06:38] -- protegiParvo [PP] shrugs --
[06:38] PP: (+] just follow me. [+)
[06:41] -- spiralingAscension [SA] you watch as she descends from the branch to the next one. If you pretend that each next branch is the ground, then you can do it. You take a deep breath --
[06:41] SA: right.
[06:41] SA: right ok@y.
[06:42] SA: sure i c@n do this! why the fUCK NOT.
[06:42] -- spiralingAscension [SA] YOURE VERY CALM. --
[06:49] -- protegiParvo [PP] it's almost painful how slow you have to climb down, pausing to see that she isn't getting stuck and frozen in fear somewhere. Why are you helping her anyway..? Well. Whatever. She'll owe you one for this. --
[06:53] PP: (+] are you going to just sit there and wait for sunrise or? [+)
[06:53] SA: m@ybe i will!
[06:54] -- spiralingAscension [SA] no you're not. You stretch to reach the next branch, not letting go of the first one until you park a foot against the next, hugging the trunk as you inch down --
[06:54] -- protegiParvo [PP] SIGH --
[06:56] SA: im coming down im coming down @lre@dy
[06:57] PP: (+] ill be old and dead by the time youre down [+)
[06:58] SA: FINE
[06:59] -- spiralingAscension [SA] you make your way down to the next branch --
[06:59] SA: wh@t @re you some bird
[07:00] PP: (+] not really [+)
[07:01] PP: (+] ive just never met someone who climbs this slowly before, i guess you dont need it under the sea or whatever [+)
[07:01] SA: ye@h under the se@ you just swim like @ s@ne person
[07:04] PP: (+] too bad for you thats not an option up here [+)
[07:04] PP: (+] unless you have psionics that lets you float around mid-air [+)
[07:04] SA: fuck no do you think i look like some wirehe@d
[07:07] -- protegiParvo [PP] raises her eyebrows at her, giving her a bored look like, 'I can't believe u just took my comment seriously it was a joke stupid' --
-- spiralingAscension [SA] Magnia turns a little bit purple as she catches on --
[04:22] SA: shut up!
[04:23] -- protegiParvo [PP] gives her a slight grin in response --
[04:27] PP: (+] so. are you coming today? [+)
[04:29] SA: i'm coming i'm coming.
[04:29] -- spiralingAscension [SA] Magnia sweats a little as she goes from tree branch to tree branch, at a snail's pace. At a particularly large gap between branches, Magnia reaches for the next branch but slips, and ends up clinging to the one she's holding, dangling in the wind. --
[04:30] SA: AAA FUCK
[04:30] -- spiralingAscension [SA] breaks out in cold sweats as she looks down. --
[04:31] SA: i got this. iiii got this.
[04:31] -- protegiParvo [PP] looks at her from another branch, looking a bit amused --
[04:31] PP: (+] take it easy. [+)
[04:32] SA: wh@t do you me@n t@ke it e@sy! how c@n @nyone t@ke /this/ e@sy???
[04:36] PP: (+] youre not that high up anymore, and itll be much easier if you calm down a bit is all im saying. the more you think about falling the harder it gets for you. [+)
[04:37] PP: (+] youre not that high up anymore, and itll be much easier if you calm down a bit is all im saying. the more you think about falling the harder it gets for you. [+)
[04:37] -- protegiParvo [PP] climbs up a bit and like, grabs her foot, more or less leading it to the next branch --
[04:41] -- spiralingAscension [SA] She takes a few deep breaths, and tries relaxing, looking up instead of down. The moons through the leaves of the trees looks kind of like light on the surface of the ocean. Her foot, even with Adill --
[04:41] SA: o guiding it, doesn't go all the way to the next branch so she shuffles to the side, as close as she can to the wide trunk and wraps her arms around it, so she doesn't slide down. She inches down till she hits the next branch.
[04:44] -- protegiParvo [PP] waits for her and lets go of the foot once she reaches the branch --
[04:45] SA: how do l@nddwellers /do/ this??
[04:46] SA: y'@ll @re cr@zy
[04:48] PP: (+] practice? [+)
[04:48] PP: (+] its fun though. [+)
[04:49] -- spiralingAscension [SA] definitely sputters a little --
[04:49] SA: wh@t's fun @bout this??
[04:50] PP: (+] i mean, the sights from up there is pretty nice... i dunno, it just is, once you learn anyway. [+)
[04:51] SA: pretty high to f@ll from you me@n
[04:51] SA: there's no _w@ter_ up here
[04:52] SA: it's stupid
[04:58] PP: (+] as long as you dont fall youre fine so [+)
[04:58] -- protegiParvo [PP] shrugs --
[04:58] PP: (+] besides if you do theres way to make the landing safer [+)
[05:00] PP: (+] are you saying you never take risks out at sea to do something you think is fun or whatever? [+)
[05:01] SA: of course i do!
[05:01] SA: im on l@nd now @ren't i
[05:06] PP: (+] so is it really that weird that some of us climbs trees then? [+)
[05:07] -- protegiParvo [PP] moves down some more, urging her to keep climbing down --
[05:08] SA: i guess not
[05:09] -- spiralingAscension [SA] Magnia climbs down some more, getting a little braver the closer she gets to the ground. --
[05:10] -- spiralingAscension [SA] the next branch she goes for breaks, and she goes crashing all of ten feet onto the ground --
[05:10] SA: AAAAA Oof
[05:12] -- protegiParvo [PP] kinda, jumps down next to her --
[05:12] PP: (+] welcome back to the ground nerd [+)
[05:12] SA: fuck off l@nddweller
[05:13] -- spiralingAscension [SA] she looks away, then back again --
[05:13] PP: (+] wow [+)
[05:13] SA: but @lso th@nks
[05:13] PP: (+] ... [+)
[05:13] PP: (+] its no big deal. [+)
[05:15] SA: ye@h ok@y
[05:16] -- spiralingAscension [SA] picks herself up, and cracks her neck. --
[05:16] SA: ok@y th@t didnt hurt too b@d i guess
[05:16] PP: (+] yeah. [+)
[05:16] -- protegiParvo [PP] shrugs --
[05:17] SA: h@ve you f@llen before
[05:17] PP: (+] yeah, ive fallen higher than that. [+)
[05:17] SA: fuck seriously
[05:18] SA: don't you die if you do th@t
[05:18] PP: (+] you didnt fall that far? [+)
[05:18] PP: (+] and not really [+)
[05:18] PP: (+] it hurt a bit but like, that was that [+)
[05:19] PP: (+] it healed up after some days [+)
[05:20] SA: why would you go there though
[05:20] SA: go up
[05:20] SA: i don't get it
[05:30] PP: (+] why not? [+)
[05:31] SA: it's like there's nothing up there @t @ll
[05:31] SA: like there @re cliffs @nd @bysses in the se@ but the height there isn't sc@ry like this
[05:32] PP: (+] i guess the risk makes it more exciting and challenging in ways [+)
[05:32] PP: (+] i dunno [+)
[05:39] SA: wh@t were you doing in here @nyw@y?
[05:39] SA: this forest pl@ce
[05:41] PP: (+] nothing special just taking a walk, why [+)
[05:42] SA: just wondering
[05:42] SA: wh@t kind of person puts tr@ps like this in the forest?
[05:43] PP: (+] probably a hunter or something... [+)
[05:44] -- spiralingAscension [SA] she pauses a moment. --
[05:44] SA: wh@t do you think they were hunting?
[05:47] -- protegiParvo [PP] looks back at her --
[05:47] PP: (+] trolls like you maybe [+)
[05:50] -- protegiParvo [PP] stone face --
[05:50] -- protegiParvo [PP] nice adillo --
[05:50] -- spiralingAscension [SA] actually looks kind of scared at that --
[05:51] -- protegiParvo [PP] snorts --
[05:51] SA: do c@nnib@ls l@y tr@ps in forests?
[05:51] -- spiralingAscension [SA] in kind of whispers --
[05:52] PP: (+] .. i was joking [+)
[05:52] PP: (+] no they are probably just hunting for some of the beasts around here [+)
[05:52] PP: (+] cannibals? really? [+)
[05:53] SA: ye@h!
[05:53] SA: one of them tried to e@t me before
[05:53] PP: (+] huh? [+)
[05:53] PP: (+] when? [+)
[05:53] SA: like @ while @go
[05:54] SA: first time i w@s on l@nd
[05:54] SA: he s@id he w@s gonn@ get me b@ck to the oce@n but then he st@rted t@lking @bout how deliciouis i smelled
[05:54] PP: (+] ive never met any cannibals.. that sounds kinda fucked up though [+)
[05:54] -- protegiParvo [PP] sorta leans back to the trunk of some tree --
[05:55] SA: so th@t _isn't_ norm@l l@nddweller stuff?
[05:58] PP: (+] no [+)
[06:00] -- spiralingAscension [SA] takes a big sigh --
[06:00] SA: well ok@y i guess th@t's off my mind
[06:04] PP: (+] you really thought that was normal? [+)
[06:04] SA: first l@nddweller i every godd@mn met wh@t w@s i supposed to think
[06:06] PP: (+] so, you met one of millions of landdwellers and assumed everyone were the same [+)
[06:06] PP: (+] seems legit [+)
[06:06] SA: shhh
[06:06] SA: how w@s i supposed to know
[06:06] PP: (+] i mean, are all seadwellers the same? [+)
[06:07] -- protegiParvo [PP] raises her eyebrows at her --
[06:11] -- spiralingAscension [SA] crosses her arms --
[06:11] PP: (+] swimming is something you gotta do to live in the sea [+)
[06:11] PP: (+] its more like, walking for us if anything [+)
[06:12] SA: se@dwellers w@lk too
[06:13] PP: (+] on land [+)
[06:14] SA: i know @ dude who w@lks on the bottom of the oce@n floor
[06:14] SA: we@rs @rmor too swim proper
[06:14] -- protegiParvo [PP] snorts --
[06:14] PP: (+] oh? [+)
[06:16] SA: ye@h it w@s too he@vy
[06:16] SA: wouldn't ever t@ke it off
[06:16] SA: s@d weirdo
[06:18] PP: (+] sounds weird [+)
[06:18] SA: he is
[06:19] SA: but ye@h i met @ bunch of other l@nddwellers but they never s@id they _weren't_ c@nnib@ls
[06:28] PP: (+] most arent either way [+)
[06:28] PP: (+] ive never met one, as i said [+)
[06:29] -- spiralingAscension [SA] she shakes her head. --
[06:29] SA: wh@t @re the fucking ch@nces
[06:39] -- protegiParvo [PP] SHRUGS --
[06:39] PP: (+] what were you doing walking around here tho? [+)
[06:40] SA: hmrrgh.
[06:40] -- spiralingAscension [SA] she sort of shrinks back like a turtle --
[06:40] SA: no re@son.
[06:41] -- protegiParvo [PP] looks at her --
[06:41] PP: (+] ....... [+)
[06:41] PP: (+] really [+)
[06:41] SA: ye@h.
[06:41] SA: wh@t @re you looking @t
[06:42] -- protegiParvo [PP] raises an eyebrow --
[06:42] -- spiralingAscension [SA] shrinks back a little more. --
[06:42] SA: stop doing th@t
[06:44] PP: (+] why do you look so guilty [+)
[06:44] SA: i don't w@nn@ tell you.
[06:44] PP: (+] :T [+)
[06:45] SA: its stupid.
[06:49] PP: (+] oh? [+)
[06:50] SA: its dumb @nd you don't w@nn@ he@r it.
[06:55] PP: (+] so youre embarrassed [+)
[06:55] SA: no?? wh@t m@kes you think th@t??
[06:56] -- spiralingAscension [SA] crosses her arms and looks away --
[06:56] PP: (+] if its so stupid you cant tell me you have to be [+)
SA: then fine, it's emb@rr@sing @nd im still not telling you
[04:21] -- protegiParvo [PP] snorts --
[04:27] PP: (+] uh-huh. [+)
[04:29] -- spiralingAscension [SA] casually flips the bird at adillo --
[04:29] SA: you @in't getting it out of me
[04:29] -- protegiParvo [PP] looks amused --
[04:44] -- spiralingAscension [SA] uh oh things are getting a little awkward --

You pick up your foot and pull up your pants so Adillo can see the jagged scar running up the back of your leg.
“See?” you say. “When the ship fell into the abyss, this fucked up plank gashed me right up the leg when I was trying to escape. I told you I was a badass.”
Adillo seems at least politely impressed-- she’s nodding along as you talk about all the stories with your scars from your various exploits.
“What about that one?” she asks, pointing. You look down. You’ve pulled up your shirt doing all the weird poses. You put your foot back down and take a look at the scar. It’s a pretty big scar, a puckered circle right above your hip bone.
You roll your eyes at the memory.
“Oh I got that when me and a bunch of my friends got in a fight about something stupid,” you say. “Can’t remember what it was about even.”
“Was it an accident?” she asks. “It looks like you got impaled.”
You snort.
“Of course it wasn’t an accident,” you say. “We were really trying to stab each other. You landdwellers have weird ideas about friendship.”
Adillo gives you a startled look, then frowns.
“I don’t think we’re the ones with the strange ideas about friendship,” she says. You roll your eyes.
“I mean I got tons of scars from those fights,” you say. You point to a small one just under your knee. “This is where Chrysa broke my leg and some of the bone came poking out. And this is where Orsine stabbed me through the arm.” You show her the thin white line that has a twin on the other side of your forearm. “I mean, those are the boring scars, but whatever.”
“Are you still friends with these people?” Adillo demands, suddenly all worked up.
You frown and glance away.
“Well no,” you say. “But I’m still a badass. I’ll be friends with them again.”
That seems to really upset Adillo.
“What?” she exclaims. “Why would you wanna do that?”
You take a step backwards, confused. Why wouldn’t you?
“I just got sick of losing all the fights,” you mutter. “I’m gonna go back and beat them up and then we’ll be friends again.”
She spends another moment starting at you, speechless. You jab your thumb behind you. “I um,” you say. “I can go now?”
“Wait-” she says, and shakes her head out, then steps forward, taking your wrist. Her thumb runs over the thin scar on your wrist.
You can’t help but blush. Adillo’s practically holding your hand right now.
“-better way to do things,” she says. “It’s like- you should hang out with people who like you, not who can beat you up.”
You blink. You kind of got distracted by the fact Adillo’s touching you- you missed what she said in the beginning, but you nod along anyway.
Even if you do disagree with what Adillo said, you’d beat her in a fight anyway.
