ON ANOTHER NOTE. no-one has actually really even touched the “delilah is in laudna’s head and literally controlling her” issue yet which i think is fascinating but also On Purpose. the only person laudna has mentioned it to was FCG, who is trying to help laudna’s main issue that she came to him with, which was how to get imogen to forgive her. when laudna mentioned delilah they noted it but attempted to get to the root of the problem, which he believes was jealousy (possibly them projecting? which is honestly really interesting and choice of them). and the only other person who knows that delilah was in laudna’s body is imogen, but she is so distraught about the entire event that she doesn't really register what that means, exactly.

and laudna herself, she’s reaching out but she’s still not looking out for herself. she’s hinting at the problem of delilah but she chooses to omit the part of delilah taking control when she asks for help from other people. which. SO MANY THINGS FOR THAT. on one level, shes still only thinking about imogen over herself. it’s more important to laudna that she keeps imogen in her life than keeping control of her own body as her murderer is camping in her skull.

and on the next level, let’s talk about how her entire goal is to give imogen a life she never had. i think a lot of laudna’s own self worth is wrapped up in how imogen perceives her and how imogen is doing. which loops back to what my last meta is about, and how laudna’s own loneliness and undeath has caused her to think so little about herself - she’s dead but alive, she has no life ahead of her, she’s scary, and icky, and no-one would want her, but that’s okay because it’s still fun to scare people - that she’s attached all of her hopes and dreams and motivations onto the first person to show her kindness. laudna loves the world, and is constantly fascinated by its wonders. but at the same time, she’s not living for herself. her goal is to live for imogen. so that imogen can get what she wants and deserves. (which in turn means that she is living through imogen, because laudna can no longer get the life she wants, but imogen can, so all of her hopes and fears and dreams are on imogen and - yeah)

last thing on this is that literal mass murderer necromancer enemy of the state girlboss delilah fucking briarwood is actively taking the bodily autonomy of laudna away from her. and no one has talked about it yet so i’m sure delilah is just sitting in her cozy chair in laudna’s mind sipping on her gem juice waiting for the right dramatic moment to appear. yeah. YEAH. screaming, actually.
