I have spent all semester writing lectures for a class I am new to teaching—getting paid for 6 hours a week and working 40 is really demoralizing. I appreciate the subject matter & wanted to do a credible job, even though I only accepted the assignment a few weeks before class started.
I thought there might be some already created materials I could expand from, but not really. I have created 17 lectures nearly from scratch. The college claims to own anything we create in their employ, but they will have to claw this content out of my cold, dead lunchhooks.
I am exhausted and wondering what I am doing with my life. I just want to make my own art. ADHD and suspected autism have not helped with feeling utterly drained. I wish I could motivate to find a better job that is less stupidly compensated.
