My second tattoo: "Dimmi come si fanno le cose" (Tell me how things are done) from a page of Leonardo da Vinci's sketchbook. For those that don't know, Leonardo wrote backwards and upside-down, so that's why the words look wonky. This particular quote was from a page with sketches of archways and wheels, and since I'm an architecture major I thought it would be an appropriate addition to mysmall collection of tattoos.
Thank you to the amazing artist Nykolai Aleksander for helping me transcribe the words from the original sketchbook page that she posted on her blog dedicated to all things Leonardian AND for inspiring me in the first place. Her other blog dedicated to her own artwork is amazing as well so definitely check out both!
