The word almost is a curious thing. The incoming danger almost could have been spotted. The overly foolish night guard almost called for assistance. He almost got away. It almost makes you want to laugh at how delightfully unfortunate it is!
Now --- no one will know what that poor, fat, idiotic night guard saw that night. No one will now how he witnessed that the darkness was alive with the moans and screams of wounded people mixed within the soft cackles of others.
And so; life in the city that never sleeps goes on so that the most rare and tragic of nature's mistakes --- the average human --- sleeps on their club-footed social conscience and the withered optimism. They sleep soundly now so that may rise in the morning and carry on with their bloated sense of humanity's importance.
But little do they know is that the clock is counting down on a very lucky few of them.
So --- tick tock tick tock folks! make sure you’re ready for the show that is on its way.
