Can we have a scenario where Reborn finds out that his S/O gets up to some grisly activities while he's gone? Like, she doesn't know he's a hitman, and said hitman has been thinking of her as the most innocent civilian; but, she's a serial killer who lures in abusive men after she has nightmares about a horribly abusive ex she had. It would just be interesting if he came home early one day to see the evidence and asked if she needed help hiding any bodies. Where would it go from there?
Hmm honest, I’m not sure how this turned out. I hope you like it ^^;;
It’s a tad long as well. Apologies.
He smelled the blood before he saw the door. It was thick and heavy in the air, accompanied by sounds of whimpering and crying. A soft muffling and a tiny squeal of steel. The sounds of torture.
That didn’t sound like S/O…
Carefully, carefully he brought his hand up, willing for Leon to turn into a silenced pistol. He was confident in his ability to apprehend the perpetrator. The only thing he dreaded was if S/O was alright or not. His heart had dropped at the thought.
Silence walked down the hallway, not a sound emitting from the hitman. The whimpering continued and a soft humming was picked up. That sounded like them. He frowned before softly pushing the unlocked door open. The humming stopped.
A light flashed and a knife, still slick with blood stuck into the doorframe with a thunk, missing his head. He mused that had it been anyone but him they would not be seeing what he saw.
Before him, stood S/O with wide eyes and shaking fingers. Blood stained the clothes they wore and at their feet, a body, tied up with duct tape covering the man’s mouth. He was still alive by the frantic muffled screaming at seeing a-perceived-saviour at the doorway.
“R-Reborn…” tear stains were on S/O’s face, blood on their clothes and with a sigh he stepped closer, Leon reverting back to normal. The dying shrivelling man-37 years old, multiple records of assault, he had seen him in the recent news. What was he doing here?- was still, the blood leaking from a purposed cut under the eye and many other…extremities. S/O knew what they were doing.
It explained the soft lingering of blood within this apartment, of sharpened steel that he mistook for his own. A smell that he knows he should have realised so long ago.
S/O flinched, taking a step back.
“I-I thought you would come home later…” A weak smile as they wrung their hands together-it was a habit Reborn had noticed within the first few months of him dating them-a habit that seemed all the more gruesome with blood quite literally on S/O’s hands.
Their entire body trembled, wide eyes at the thought that they were finally found out. That it would be over now and the next scene they would see would be metal bars and terrified-sad-eyes belonging to the one man they had learnt to trust.
With ease, Reborn slid his gloves off. The clicking of well-polished heels made their way to S/O. grasping S/O’s hands, interrupting their frantic thoughts.
“Breathe, kitten.” A whoosh burst from them as they staggered a little. It seems S/O hadn’t noticed. They didn’t move much, too scared to look at the eyes bearing down on them. Too scared to face a normalized truth. That they will lose everything.
It took two tries for Reborn before S/O heard what he said.
“Where do you hide your bodies?”
Startled eyes looked up. Reborn sighed softly lifting a hand to wipe the fresh tears streaming down their face.
“Well?” Reborn wasn’t one to ask twice, much less three times.
They almost stuttered before automatically answering.
“I…I usually break it down before going into the forest and burying them shallow for the wild dogs to eat.” Reborn nodded. A good usual way to do it. And the forest near here was usually off-limits to the general public. The body would be long gone at the end of the month. Or week.
S/O blinked.
“Then let us proceed.”
It would take three days before they realised nothing had changed. And when they asked him, questions in S/O’s eyes and hesitant worry in their tone. He would smirk before replying.
“I am the World’s Greatest Hitman.”
S/O supposed that was a better explanation than anything.
