Hello, everyone! Admin Emmy and I are planning a plot drop (and a few clues) coming out in the next week. We’d love to have your muses involved whenever there is a new discovery in Rosecastle, MA. If you would like your muses to find something and/or have something happen to them, please like this post! While I was away,  it seems as though there were some questions and criticisms of our rules on characters being active-duty police officers. I will explain this and address it once, and only once. (But I will also put a link to this post in the FAQ page). 

First and foremost, we are not making a blanketed statement about police officers by having the rule in place, we are not enforcing any stereotypes. In the past few years, there has been an increase in discomfort with law enforcement. In the same amount of  time, I have personally spoken to dozens of roleplayers who are uncomfortable with law enforcement. It is my number one priority as an admin to make this a safe place for my roleplayers. By banning active-duty police officers as characters, I am ensuring that those uncomfortable with law enforcement are mentally safe. On the flip side of that same coin, I am also protecting roleplayers that may be close with police officers as they do not want to see people complaining about the livelihood of their loved ones. 

Additionally, in my nine years of roleplaying on tumblr, any time that I have roleplayed against an active-duty police officer, it was made into a god-modding position. The role of the officer was seen as the one that held the power and therefore, it was often used to take advantage of that imbalance. The rule is also to combat that, as god-modding is strictly forbidden here. 

Due to both of these instances, it is in the rules that active-duty officers are not allowed. You may play retired police officers. It is not a slight against law enforcement in any way, shape, or form to not allow active-duty officers. It is the best way I know how to ensure the safety of all of my members. 

Last but not least, if you are going to send a message in, chat with us, whatever it may be, do not include anything with racist undertones. Implying that a police officer is good because they do things for “mostly POCs” as the message stated, has problematic inflections. Racism of any kind, including micro-aggressions, is not tolerated at Rosecastlehq what-so-ever. If you message us with such tones, you will be immediately banned and blocked.

[Candice Patton] — Have you seen CLORA WALKER walking around? They’re a 32 year old FEMALE with SHE/HER pronouns. They supposedly live in DOWNTOWN ROSECASTLE and currently work as a/an RECEPTIONIST AT THE ROSE CASTLE ANIMAL HOSTPITAL . Rumor has it, Rosecastle PD says they’re (UNINVOLVED) when it comes to the case. I guess that makes sense, considering they’re SWEET, ACCEPTING. I would like to apologize for the absence on the main. I've been away getting medical treatment and dealing with other personal things. When I opened Rosecastle, I had intended the group to last for a long time, unaware that shortly after, I would have to step away. At this time, I do not have the time or energy to run the group. This pains me to do, as I really do love the plot, the characters, and the writers so, so very much. With that being said, Rosecastle is officially closed. For now. There may be a point in the future where I revamp it to exist on a much smaller scale. I am so thankful to each and every one of you who gave the group a chance. I am equally very sorry to all of you who joined us just to be let down. Thank you for the brief, but memorable time.

what’re some ways they could be connected to the murder

They could always be related to one of the victims. There’s an entire list of those connections here. Perhaps one of their parents was considered a suspect during the 70s. They could also be a true crime buff that knows the ins-and-outs of the case.
