Can I request something for Iwaizumi! How would he react to his crush confessing to him the same day he was planning to confess to her?
“And that’s
why I was hoping you would go out with me sometime.” You finished your story,
taking a deep breath now that it was finally done. You were too scared to look
Iwaizumi in the eye so instead you stared at the zipper of his coat. Your
feelings were complicated. On the one hand, you were feeling relieved that you
had finally confessed to him. You had agonized over it for weeks after all. On
the other hand, you were terrified he might reject you. The two of you had been
such great friends for the past year and you were afraid to lose that. However,
you simply could no longer not tell him how you felt.
The silence
between you two was almost painful and it continued on for much longer than you
had anticipated. Or maybe it didn’t take that long at all and it was just in
your head. Either way, he hadn’t responded yet, while he had had the time to do
so. It was enough of an answer.
“I’m sorry,
I shouldn’t have said anything.” A nervous laugh bubbled out of you before you
could stop it. “I’m such an idiot. Just forget about it, okay? I’m sorry.
Again.”
As you were
turning around, ready to head home with your tail between your legs, a hand on your arm stopped you.
“Wait.”
You turned back towards Iwaizumi, unable to keep the hopeful expression from your face.
“I don’t want to forget about it,” he continued. “Because I feel the same way.”
“You do?” you answered, your voice breathless.
“Yes, it’s just,” it was his turn to let out a nervous laugh. “I actually wanted to confess to you today.”
You paused, your mind having trouble comprehending his words. “What?”
Iwaizumi looked down at his shoes as he shoved his hands into his coat. “I wanted to confess to you today. I had it all planned out. You beat me to it, though.”
Finally, he looked up to meet your gaze. “I like you as well, y/n. It’s just a bit embarrassing that I missed on the chance to be the first one to say.”
“I don’t mind,” the butterflies fluttered in your stomach. “The time doesn’t matter, I like it whenever you say it. Can you say it again?”
Iwaizumi looked you in the eye as he repeated, “I like you, y/n. And I will say it as many times as you want me to.”
