My name is Judy Seoud, and I am a graduate student in the Stigma, Identity, and Intersectionality Research Lab at Teachers College, Columbia University.  The goal of this research team is to investigate and promote the physical health, mental health, and overall well-being of diverse populations.

We are currently conducting a study concerning bisexual men’s experiences of stigma, coping, and sexual health (IRB Protocol #18-119). as a girl who has flirted w only guys up until now, I must ask: how do u flirt w girls??

unfortunately this isn’t so much a dating advice blog as it is a blog celebrating and sharing news and resources for bisexuality so i don’t really have an amazing answer for you, but think about what you might appreciate hearing someone telling you!

do you see a cute girl wearing a pretty dress? tell her how lovely she looks! her makeup amazing? compliment those eyebrows! did the girl you like have a recent accomplishment/do something cool? congratulate and ask about her it! ask her questions about herself so you can hear more about her story and if you really like her, offer to take her out for coffee or a walk or dinner if you’re a little fancier. dates can be super low maintenance and the important thing is that you’re spending time with someone you like.

i am not a date expert and i haven’t been in the dating game in a while but honestly just don’t go in expecting anything. just be nice and supportive!

Do you have to love boys and girls in the same way to be bi, or can there be differences?

there can 100% be a difference! even with the same gender, you’re never gonna like every single person in the same way for the same reason, so why should it have to be the same for two or more totally different genders!like who you like and don’t worry about your attraction being the same or not between genders because there is no right way to be bisexual.

I figured out my sexuality BEFORE I ever dated anyone. Unrequited love is a thing, and unfortunately it happens to me a lot, but when I developed an unrequited crush on a girl that settled it.

yep, there’s no set way to figure things out. i knew i was bi back when i was uhhhh about 9 years old and VERY much before i started dating. i didn’t know being bi was even a thing but i was very surprised when i confided in a friend about my attraction and i was like “wait doesn’t everyone like girls??”
