I noticed a while ago you reposted a theory that Steven will poof in a stress-related manner, but I believe Matt said on Twitter that if Steven poofs, he's dead forever. -unorthodoxRevelations
We’ve had submissions like that before which we probably published because we are a theory blog and not anything official. A lot of the theories are either reblogs or submissions, so they’re bound to overlap or contradict one another.
Okay, so I have a theory. Why did the Crystal Gems stay with Rose? Obviously Pearl went with her because she's obsessed, but why Amethyst and Garnet? If Rose saw the good in everything, then she would have accepted each of them. So Amethyst was born on Earth, never knew anything about Homeworld, and wants to stay on Earth. What if there are rules preventing Ruby & Sapphire from staying fused for so long? Jasper seemed to dislike fusion. So Garnet didn't want to leave, but had to, to be fused?
“So this is what Homeworld thinks of fusion,” states Garnet in “Keeping It Together.” We don’t know much about Homeworld just yet, but it’s been STRONGLY hinted that fusion is nearly taboo save for times of war and fighting. It’s more than likely this was the reason for Garnet deciding to stay with Rose Quartz because just that--she was loving and accepted every living creature for what it was. If Garnet decided to remain a fusion, she would’ve had Rose’s support.
You mentioned Malachite being the only fusion to have issues with being a separate identity, but didn't Alexandrite too? Alexandrite was constantly talking to "herself", as in, her constituent gems talking to each other. Also Stevonnie but that's a totally different matter.
Fusion is still a thing we don’t fully understand because it’s so alien. It’s a deep connection and a way to become stronger in times of need. It’s something to trust another partner with, yet something that can be taken advantage of. It is not two or more people, and it is not one person. Alexandrite was not just one person, so held the properties of every gem in her and wound up splitting because of those different views. She was not four different people, so had her own thoughts, actions, and memories. Fusion is different and it is alien, and it still has a lot to have explained to us.
Why does Steven talk in such a friendly manner with Peridot? She has attacked him and the Crystal Gems multiple times. From the few interactions with Jasper he never was as friendly to her. Did anyone think of an explanation?
We’re chalking it up to Steven keeping his childlike demeanor and possibly a “kill them with kindness” attitude. He knows that Peridot is one of the bad guys, but perhaps sees her as much less of a threat on her own. (We’re comparing interactions with Jasper in both “Jail Break” and “Chille Tid” as opposed to interactions with Peridot in “Keeping It Together” and “Friend Ship.”)
Do you think Rose Quartz is evil?
We would be disappointed should she wind up being evil. So far, the Crewniverse has given us wonderful plot twists full of thought and creativity with plenty of foreshadowing. Rose Quartz being evil would be much more a shock factor than anything and would take away those few personal moments for Steven such as Rose’s recorded conversation with him in “Lion 3: Straight To Video.” It would betray Steven’s, Greg’s, the viewer’s, and the Crystal Gem’s trust in her. We give the Crewniverse more credit than that.
Matt Burnett casually confirmed on his twitter on the July 23rd that any of the money the Gem's need is provided by Greg.
I think it was confirmed that everything is paid for by greg, by one of the crew. I haven’t checked on twitter yet tho.
One of the writers, no clue which one at the moment, said on Twitter that Greg does pay for everything.
just wanna say if you look on matts twitter he says that greg pays for what they wreck and for stevens food and stuff. plus you see in the extended them he hand built that house at the temple
