So uuuhh my fansession is kinda f*cked and i dunno if it's fixable?? The Prince of Doom accidentally prototyped her laptop with the SGRUB client disk. Then, In an attempt to one-up her, the maid of space """accidentally""" prototyped HER laptop with the SGRUB server disk (she's blackrom for the prince). The Bard of Mind tried to 420 blaze it with his sprite and ended up prototyping a blunt. The maid of time's future self tried to travel to a better timeline and fix things 1/?

The maid of times future self tried to travel back to a better timeline and fix things, but only had one shot at it because they were very weak from a huge battle. They arrived too late to stop the prince and maid, So they just waited for their past self to enter the medium then prototyped themself (future self). There are, astonishingly, more problems with this session, but what I've said is already a LOT 2/3(?)

Also the full session contains a Prince of Doom, Witch of Void, Witch of Life, Maid of Space, Maid of Time, Knight of Hope, Bard of Mind, and a Sylph of Breath. I know this is a lot to ask, and i understand if it's too much. But can you think of any ways this session could be saved? 3/3

Unfortunately I don’t quite understand what was bad about prototyping the computer with the client and server disks? Did the Maid’s laptop claim the Prince’s laptop as its client? (Please say yes.)

Someone should keep an eye on the Bard, not because he’s a Bard but because his drug-addled brain is just probably something that someone should keep an eye on. I vote the Sylph of Breath, cuz Breath seems like it should definitely include weed and the blazing of.

Maid of Time and her Maid-of-Time sprite should be fine, they both seem like good helpful people, even if MoTsprite seems like she needs to get better control of her time powers (she should have taken some, hey, TIME after that battle to rest up and then NOT BE LATE). It’s hard being a kid.

Maid of Space may have some difficulty focusing on frog breeding if she’s black-crushing on the Prince, so maybe an auspistice should head that off. Perhaps Knight of Hope can take that role since they’re likely to be helping with the frogs, unless the personality of one of the Witches is preferable for the role. It’s not an easy role, after all.

I’ll hang on to the other 2 asks in case you respond about the laptops (and also because I’m on mobile rn).

Hey, I'm trying to make a fan session, currently I have a Knight of Rage, a Prince of Void, a Maid of Doom, and a Mage of Light. There are supposed to be 8 Players, and I'm stuck on what the other's should be. Any suggestions?

There’s no formula for session members, except that most would recommend you have both a Time and a Space player.  They might also like to point out that you have an imbalance of “negative”/”positive” aspects - where Rage, Void, and Doom are considered negative, while Light is considered positive.  I don’t much like the -/+ aspect theories, but if you have space for Time and Space players on your team, it might be a good idea.

I don’t foresee much teamwork among these first four members.  Classes like Heir and Seer tend to have natural leadership abilities.  Other classes like Rogue, Page, and Mage are good at teamwork but are less likely to stand up and put themselves out as leaders. (Prince, Maid, Thief, and Witch are powerful classes, but often prefer to do their own things.)  Knights can fill the leader roles, as Karkat so determinedly showed us, but I’m wary of a hero of Rage in that role.  So I’d definitely recommend putting at least one leader character in your session.

Instead, you have a handful of active or borderline-active players.  Prince is active, Maid and Mage are usually considered active, and Light players can be very, well, driven towards action. A single Seer probably won’t be enough to herd all these players into order.

That’s, of course, if you want a successful session. If you want something dysfunctional like the Beforan players, you should probably add a Thief and a Bard.

(Previous anon concerning fearing an aspect) Does this also apply if the player doesn't necessarily have an excess of their feared aspect/avoids it only because they fear it and not because they've been constantly surrounded by it? I'm thinking more of Light/Void here (someone who's always avoided Light/Void out of fear and not excess of it). Gah now I'm getting too specific sorry 😅Thank you!

I’m not the person who answered the original ask, but I think that wouldn’t be a Bard/Prince in that case.  Princes especially tend to be surrounded by their aspect, but also because destroyer classes would be considered heroes of their feared Aspect, which doesn’t make sense if you don’t have that aspect in the first place?

Honestly I think players of any aspect can have difficulty with their opposite aspect. For example, Vriska, always seeking the spotlight, desperately tries to fit herself into the role of a successful hero, because that’s who she thinks she’s supposed to be.

VRISKA: I was always invested as hell in the consequences of everything I did, and how it made me look. VRISKA: And how it made me feel a8out myself especially.

VRISKA: Remem8er when our crew started re8elling against me in that cave, and I was kind of lashing out? VRISKA: I think I might have 8een forcing it a little? VRISKA: Like that whole dramatic speech I gave when I jumped into the flaming pit. VRISKA: Was that really a genuine thing, or like, a desper8te last attempt to 8e who I think I should 8e?

So Thieves are a class driven to seek their aspect because they dislike having a lack of it.

Seers have a very hard time understanding their opposite aspect.  Part of the reason Rose couldn’t fathom her Mom’s thoughts was because Roxy is a Void player; the fact that Roxy could simply like wizards was apparently inconceivable to Rose (it all had to be some kind of complex plot that revolved around Rose instead).  Seers are also driven to seek knowledge of their aspect, which makes them similar to Thieves in that regard?

Classes such as Rogue, Maid, Mage, and Sylph have a positive (or at least resigned) relationship with their aspect, and no particularly positive nor negative relationship with their opposite aspect.  So none of them would be defined by a fear of the opposite aspect, but that’s not to say it would be impossible for those classes either.

...I’m not sure how helpful that is, sorry!  It’s hard to pick a class/title just based on the one trait.

thoughts on the fraymotif of a sylph of heart and a knight of rage?

Here’s a support fraymotif that can be used to buff teammates or debuff enemies (probably only one or the other, your choice).

The Sylph of Heart reaches into the souls of their teammates/enemies and, with the Knight of Rage’s help, equips them with Rage.  

For teammates, this provides anything from cold determination to a stereotypical berserker mode, depending on how you interpret the Rage aspect.  Potential effects: applies attack bonus, provides temporary HP or overheal.

For enemies, though, this drives them blind with anger.  Potential effects: taunts enemies into combat, applies defense and agility penalties.

Hello, I'm back! :) This time I'm looking for a fetch modus for my Prince of Doom. It might have something to do with words, phrasing, etymology or philosophy because I'm interested in that. Equally, I'm quite interested in art and music, if that gives you any ideas? I don't tend to believe in fate or ghosts or anything like that, but it interests me. It doesn't have to be based on any of those things of course, just thought it might be handy to spark some ideas? Thanks in advance!

Really basic idea, but what about an Etymon Modus?  You have to name the origin word(s) that your desired item is named from in order to summon the item.  Your character would probably need an excellent knowledge of at least ancient Greek and Latin in order to make full use of this modus.  If you can’t remember or don’t know the etymon of an item, like “coconut,” you can still obtain the item by renaming it something like “fuzzy tree nut” and using those etyma instead.  And if multiple items in your sylladex derive from the same etymon, it spits out all of them.

Sorry for not more clearly expressing my main point. I did not mean that pages are doomed to have none of their aspect and be useless, I rather meant that they begin without much of it and even though they usually need to struggle more for gain than other classes they also can become some of the most powerful sburb players. There's Jake's payoff with his ability of the hope aura, and even tavros, despite vriska, used his knowledge of freedom to inspire the ghost army which was no small task.

See, I don’t really disagree with that theory as part of a Page class definition, but it’s such a general statement that I think it misses the main focus of the Page class.  

Pages are incredibly confident in their aspect and embody every part of their aspect with their entire being.  The only thing they lack is, well, the aspect itself.  Look at how carefree Tavros is, and how unaffected he is by Alternia’s bloodthirsty culture!  It’s too bad that Vriska is there to personally take it all away.  And how hopeful Jake is!  Bummer that he doesn’t quite understand that believing in and supporting others requires actually supporting them.

The original Anon, who thought they might be a Page of Heart, said they were “confused on what I really am” and “have trust issues and insecurities of my self in general.”  In my opinion, one way a Page of Heart could manifest would be someone who was incredibly confident in themselves and their identity, without realizing that they’ve entirely copied their identity off other peoples’ trends and styles rather than their own.  Anon’s description of themself, while matching your definition of not having much aspect, is completely opposite my definition and therefore I was unwilling to call them a Page of Heart.

(Admittedly, this makes it very difficult to determine Pages online.  If someone tells me they’re confident in themselves, there’s no way for me to detect what’s “really” happening.  And even then it would be incredibly rude to tell someone, well, you think you’re so good, but actually you are small and weak and wrong.)

Pages don’t merely grow into their aspect - they have to protect and maintain their belief in their aspect as they mature to their full potential.  (They’re kind of like Bards in that respect.)

Classpect? Internally I'm pretty pessimistic and cynical on how I view the world since most faith in humanity is gone. But people see me as optimistic and happy a lot. I'm True Neutral and I'm stoic sometimes. I struggle with inner turmoil and morality sometimes since I want to help save life andyet destroy all of humanity. I get disgruntled when I see my class get tooo rowdy and I want to get rid of that extra energy but I'm too passive to tell em and I love some fun and rulebreaking sometimes

This is one of the few classpect requests I’ve gotten that immediately stands out to me as a Prince.  Not just because you included the word “destroy,” but for the intensity of emotion and conflict in this ask.  I’m using @2claspect4this‘s definition of a Prince from here:

Princes are active destroyers. The crucial thing to understand about them as characters is that their ideal state is The Unfettered: somebody who ruthlessly punches past any and all opposition to a cardinal goal to which all other goals are secondary. This core goal is not always destruction in and of itself; in fact, a pretty common theme among the desires of Princes is creation. FMA:B’s Roy Mustang and Paranatural’s Forge are among the Princes that seek to instate order at all costs.

As for aspect, I think you’re somewhere on the Life/Doom dichotomy.  

Arguments for being a Prince of Life:

want to get rid of your classmates’ extra energy (where Life = energy)

want to destroy humanity (where your faith in humanity has been destroyed by people being ambitious, greedy, resource-hoarding, etc Life traits)

Arguments for being a Prince of Doom:

appear to be happy and optimistic even though you’re actually cynical (Princes tend to appear as their opposite aspect) 

want to destroy humanity (where “humanity” is contrasted against “life,” and your faith in humanity has been destroyed by people being cruel to each other for no good reasons other than human faults like spite or stupidity or ignorance, and the fact that you’re trapped in with the rest of them)

Personally I think the information given in this ask fits a Prince of Doom better than a Prince of Life, but not knowing the specifics of your situation and beliefs, I thought it’d be best to lay them both out. 

If neither of these seems to fit you, you could also try looking at which aspect you consider the most personally antagonistic to you in your life, and try out being a Prince of that aspect.
