Grief bore down upon the princess as sharp as a nail, seeing the orange glow of her mother’s eyes and the rasping of the Beast’s breath. This spider was no longer the one that had raised Hornet, and prepared her for what should have been an eternal slumber.
Yet, despite all the times Hornet had told herself any infected would be cut down should she wake, this was one she could not bear the thought of losing.
The worst sort of silence had settled over Deepnest that day, grieving the loss of their Queen and the broken heart of the princess. All was still within the dark, as though the universe itself was mourning in time with Hornet.
An order was given. The Beast was to remain sealed in her den. She was not to leave, and none were to enter. She would live the last of her days in peace, but alone. Hornet thought the fate cruel, but more favorable than the alternative options.
With heavy heart she turned her back on the seal, unable to look at it any longer. Hornet took a deep breath, and she set out for Fog Canyon. If she were awake, surely Felix and Quirrel would be too.
Felix do you have some special power you got through city of tears without a nail and it's teeming with infected i know from personal experience (and how did you get past the watcher knights)
Felix: I’m sorry, but... what? Yes, some bugs have gotten sick, but, I do believe that um.. that “teeming” is a bit of a stretch..
