first i'll give my thoughts on Elias Shaw replacing Jack Bright:
i dislike it, as well as the other name rewrites for him (nothing against those who choose to change Bright's name though! we're all comfortable with different things). if you want Jack to go by Elias? go for it, we all have different HCs and AUs and this hurts nobody; just don't shit on those who don't.
thoughts on everything:
sighhhh, Duckman was a good author; not a good person. there's not much i can really say except i understand why people would want to change character Bright's name but for me author ≠ character. Author Bright and Character Bright are different people, despite one being used as an object to help harass others. CB is their own entity and can be modelled by the fandom; name changes could be used as alternate dimensions of each other and/or simply whatever the hell you feel like. headcanons are a thing and CB is pure headcanon at this point because some of the canon stuff is bleh. now this is coming from someone who hasn't done too much looking into it, so take my words with a grain of salt.
