Okay here’s what we’re NOT gonna do. We’re not gonna learn that someone has been getting hate (Quackity doxxing) and turn around and hate more people (I am seeing some stuff I certainly wouldn’t want the admins to see, and some of them have Tumblr accounts). That is literally how the problem started. Let’s NOT turn hate into more hate.

The admins were not sending Quackity death threats, that was other problem people. Mistakes have been made by many people in the handling of this situation, but it’s worth remembering that everyone involved is very young and doing their best, and nobody involved wants other people involved in Quackity studios to be suffering or attacked. If you need to go OH MY GOD AHHHHH maybe don’t put that in the main tags that we know former admins check. That is what group chats are for. Maybe we can stay on « oh my god that’s horrible I hope he’s safe now » and not go on to wishing other people harm.

i am going to be 100% honest here in my belief. and say that i do not think the mcyt fandom is the right place to hold large scale international discussions of worker's rights in a highly emotionally charged situation where those rights have been abused and workers have been taken advantage of. and obviously we are in the middle of that right now and I cant make us not be in the middle of that. however i still feel that way

Look QSMPblr I'll be honest. From now on I'm going to be employing the tactic of Shutting The Fuck Up About The Admin Stuff Unless I Have Something Incredibly Important To Say and maybe you should too, because whether you're moreso on the side of the union or moreso on the side of Quackity I can 100% promise you that your whining, catastrophising, and theorising as a random uninformed internet user is not constructive in the slightest, and only serves to exacerbate the massive issue that is the internet constantly feeling the need to weigh in on every tiny aspect of this mess.

I worry that I, in part, have been contributing to this problem, and a lot of you definitely have been too. As harsh as it sounds, this is not our problem, and our opinions, assumptions or interpretations do not matter more than what is actually happening here.

Damn I just finished reading the entire statement from the ex-Qsmp web developer and HOLY SHIT WHAT THE FUCK.

As someone who has fucked around with coding and web design, the conditions that worker had to endure were simply unacceptable.

3 Hours as a deadline for anything relating to coding and design (especially as your first assignment) is almost hard for me to comprehend. It’s so incredibly last minute, and it sounds absolutely anxiety inducing.

In the field of coding, if you fuck up one thing even if everything else is right, whatever you’re working on will simply cease to function. It’s a job that involves a lot of time and effort and it requires you to get things right or else it will all collapse.

I mostly do more superficial design because coding pains me, but I cannot imagine getting less than a 1 day notice before a deadline. And I have always considered /that/ incredibly last minute and a sign of horrible planning and coordination. The fact that I consider a 1 day deadline sucky, should tell you exactly how I feel about a 3 hour deadline.

OH ALSO $5 AN HOUR WHEN YOURE WORKING 60 ON A SINGLE PROJECT WILL NEVER BE OKAY. I HAVE LITERALLY NEVER SEEN A DESIGN JOB AT ANY OFFICIAL CAPACITY PRICED LIKE THAT.

NOT FOR A JOB, NOT FOR AN INTERNSHIP, AND NOT EVEN FOR WHEN I EDITED MY COLLEGE NEWSPAPER.

I think the frustrating thing about QSMP and payment is that it starts to feel like people low key implying it’s all going to go to Quackity’s pocket. Not intentionally, and not necessarily. Like, if it’s not going towards the admins directly it mustn’t be going towards anything else related to QSMP. And like, a part of it is that if the Eggs sales only went to the egg admins…then what about the other workers there? The modders and builders, just anybody else that still works at QSMP. Like, the admins should be compensated for their past work but taking any sales you get and only putting it towards said admins while it’s been made clear that financially the QSMP is not in the strongest position doesn’t seem like the best solution either.

Especially since QSMP doesn’t have a fixed income. It isn’t constantly making money like other businesses during these situations so it can’t start paying people back immediately. Everything comes out of Q’s pocket and I doubt those pockets are deep enough to pay for everything given he doesn’t stream frequently. The fact that Tubbo and Bad are concerned enough about the financial state that they are tryin to make it easier on Q (not using the translator when unnecessary, buying merch) says a lot to me.

Like I get it. If everything gets settled/improved financially and he still hasn’t paid the admins back then it’s going to be a major disappointment and problem. But like, until things are settled at the base (QSMP), I don’t think Quackity can make moves towards paying back the others without putting more strain on the situation or at worse not being able to actually pay them fully back people. Much less find a way to talk about it that might unintentionally become a false promise or could lead to more issues in him not being able to pay them back in a timely manner.

Like, idk, I’m never going to say that Q shouldn’t at the very least try to give some updates on the situation because IT IS unfair to the admins

but as somebody not involved in the Studio, who has no idea of the actual depth of the financial situation or the problems that might be going on legally in the background, I don’t PERSONALLY feel comfortable saying “well he can at least say X to the admins.” For me personally, that part just holds too many assumptions that I don’t have any insight on
