so, thoughts on the new control dlc :p

I’M SO EXCITED.

I absolutely loved Control, and I love that it very solidly tied Alan Wake to it and gave a bit more story surrounding it. And learning that Alan is still trapped in the Darkness ten years later, how sad :( I was so excited to be playing Control and finding tidbits about Bright Falls and Alan’s typewriter and such. It was so neat! Back when Control was put up for pre-order, they announced the DLCs that would be coming out for it, and the AWE picture wasn’t even subtle that it would be about Alan Wake lol

But seeing the new trailer got me so excited! Hearing Alan’s voice again (which I know we heard as Casper Darling in Control, but hearing it as Alan!!), those typewriter clicks, “Stay in the light,” I actually got tears in my eyes, I’m so emotional. I can’t wait to see what it brings, if we get more about Alice, Barry, Sarah, the entire AW cast, or if it’ll focus solely on Alan in the Darkness (maybe he’ll finally get out? Boy do I have thoughts about that).

Either way, I’m so excited, I’m so jazzed to see what happens, and also? HD Alan Wake! Look at this man!

If anyone needs me, I’ll be crying happy tears all over this blog.

I can’t say that I’ve read anything by way of fanfiction for this game, though I have written a few drabbles of it myself! Nothing spectacular or even very lengthy, but still fun all the same. If you have any recommendations, send them my way for sure!

oh my god I'm so glad you're still on here! thank you for running this blog. since ubisoft has literally forgotten about this franchise it feels god to know that there are still people out there who love this game (and the prince's ass)! thank you so much!

You know, now that you mention it, I do remember that! I can’t scan in that page since my scanner died (r.i.p. scanner), but I can take a good photo of it and post it up. Honestly, though, this game is so incredible and beautiful, and that soundtrack is amazing! It’s one of those games I can go on forever over, I love it so much, and it’s one of those games that helped me through a really difficult time in life. I really owe a lot to this game - but also, it’s just a fantastic game in general!

Something I always love about this fandom is that, regardless of how much time goes by, there’s always content being created for it by the fans. I know it’s been a hot minute since I’ve gotten things updated around here (I apologize ;_; life just has that tendency to kick hard, ugh), but backlogging the tag as best as I can (with the messed up tagging system ruining it for everyone) I’ve found a TON of good stuff to queue up. 

Anyway, I know I’m long overdue for an update here, so here it is! I’ve got about 4 months of a queue built up, and still nothing but a TON of feelings about these characters. I’ll be seeing everyone around a little more frequently, and, as usual, the askbox is open to chatting! (Please use the askbox and not the chat.)

Also! The lighting is amazing, but after 9 years, I finally got Elika’s magic design tattoo’d on my leg! I got this done back on December 17th, so it’s pretty much healed by now, though I’m gonna go back for the touchup soon. But I love how it came out! He did the watercolor exactly how I wanted it, and the colors are vibrant and beautiful <3 I’m so pleased!
