while i do like the actual song, i will say that i’m not a massive fan of the video for monstruo
the character we focus on just feels kinda off? like, her design has all these spikes and slight asymmetries, but it’s all so smooth and glossy that, instead of being some chaotic street racer, she comes off more like a rich influencer pretending to be a chaotic street racer despite being covered in million dollar designer jewelry
it’s also not helped by the overall setting and aesthetic; i can see that it’s meant to be cyberpunk-ish, but the focus on racing fancy cars through a vaguely future-seeming city just gives me the vibes of like. modern-day dubai. which is not a compliment. and combined with the character design it’s all giving “influencer racing lamborghinis in dubai,” which is just. eughh.
