Sonic-Man and His Mild Acquaintances.
Snow Monkey,
And Flare.
After many many many years (since 2018), I have finally tried drawing the last of @adokle's designs for the Seven Sages. I didn't want to do a complete trace, so I tried doing the good old observe-and-draw method. This is Lord Mezil of House Berendin, Grandmaster of the Magus Association, the Red Sage. Unlike the other magical Lichborn whose bodies are magic-based mimicry of bones, Liches are made up of real physical human bone. I tried referencing a real human skull to try giving him a more 'solid' feeling on top of his original take.
It came out really cool, so I'm glad!
happy birthday to @adokle ! please enjoy a slice of cake that’s entirely too large for you today
Sometimes you just gonna grab Locke by the tiddies
It do be like that sometimes.
@adokle ironic you said that earlier ‘cause I’ve had piko on the mind since the ping pong battle started
for some context folks, Collision Chaos, Amy’s ability, adds a property to objects that makes them make the “piko” noise when they come into contact with something. Instead of reading tarot cards, she deliberately plays one and “enchants” something with it, with the card in question having some effect on the object itself.
Of course, the actual meaning can be kind of abstract and up to interpretation (as is the case for tarot cards), and it’s mostly just whatever Amy wants that could possibly happen. Note that “possibly” doesn’t mean “plausibly”, meaning something she wills, no matter how improbable, can occur if it’s at least technically “possible” to happen.
what matters is that instead of a stand-rush, Amy has an onomatopoeia rush
First picture: the Kaiju girl from The Golden Quiche. Yes. It makes sense in context. Second picture: Times Roman and Helvetica, the parents of Sans and Papyrus in The Golden Quiche. You can see the family resemblance and who inherited whose traits. The rest of the collection: Six of the Seven Sages, designed by @adokle (a.k.a JoeAdok. Go check his stuff out, it’s awesome) I used his drawings as reference for making the newer faces. Tired of people mistaking your Skeleton OCs as yet another Sans, Papyrus, or Gaster AU? This tofu have some tips for you! Making a new face is all about manipulating shapes. First, consider general skull shape. Square? Round? Chubby? Triangular? Big or small? Longer? Shorter? High or low cheekbones? How prominent would they be? Will your features be round or angular? Second, consider the eye shape. Sharp? Round? Squarish? Almond? Trepezoid? A combination of them? Play with brows too! Grooves and bevels above the sockets can mimic eyelids. Brow or no brow? Long brow? Soft brow? Triangular brow? Visible pupils or non visible pupils? Third, the nose shape. Although the most human-accurate nose shapes are either upside down hearts or triangles, these skels are monsters. Try gem-shaped holes. Or oval shaped holes. Or even Lambda shaped holes. Maybe the nostril is split down in the middle? Adjusting the height of the nose bridge will also make a big difference in the final impressions. Last but not least, the mouth. Just as humans have a variety of lips, they can have a variety of mouth structures. Do you want it to be more open like a real skeleton? Or closer to a human’s skin? With teeth? Only teeth lines? Or no lines? Do they curl up or curl down? If there are gaps and holes in the face, what size would they be and how are they shaped? Other misc details such as markings, makeup, scars, implants, horns, can also help you make a unique skeletonkind. Have fun!
Just a thing with the Zeti dude from here. Just a notion at this point.
adokle replied to your photo “sophtoart: This picture is deserves its own spot. Go go Annoying Goose...”
Can a skeleton endure such condensed annoyance?
You’re asking the real questions there. Maybe we’ll need to piece Papyrus together again after he explodes from the sheer rage XD
