— do i imagine it, or do i see your stare.'is there still longing there?
"Ayo, boyfriend." Nudging the other with an obvious coy grin, Bambam reached over to link his fingers with Donghae’s. Ignoring the heavy crowds and the loud beats that echoed against the walls for a mere second to just concentrate on the warm hand that was now grasped with his. It was only after did the coy grin turn into a genuine smile and Bambam took the second to glance around the dorm party. His gaze settling around the spaceless patio. The midnight breeze hitting softly against his heated skin. "Having fun?" The assistant then questioned, though, when silence was his answer, Bambam glanced over at Donghae, who was too occupied with his phone. "Everything alright?" And it was only after that did the older snap out from his daze, a light smile settling on his lips as he nodded. "Mhm, yeah. Everythings fine."
— i want to believe.'its just you and me.
"Have any of you guys seen Donghae?"
"He’s your boyfriend, Bambam. Shouldn’t you know?"
A soft sigh was his answer and his view dropped on his phone. The messages he sent, the last one just a minute ago, still not replied to. It had been like that for the past week, the brunette was getting harder to find and a frown curved the assistant’s lips. They were supposed to meet up. The date they had planned a month ahead was today but— Donghae, where was he?
Deciding to check up on the others dorm room once more, Bambam’s eyebrows arched once he realized the place was suddenly occupied. “Hae,” he called out — only to be greeted by another person and staying quiet, Bambam’s eyes drifted between the stranger and Donghae. Somehow, the conversation seemed serious and he kept silent, not wanting to bother whatever was happening between the two. Though, it was short lived with the other male, the one he didn’t seem to recognize pushed past him without a second glance and the assistant played with the corner of his lips, confused. “Is everything alr—”
Bambam was shushed when a pair of soft lips pressed against his, the puzzlement forgotten when he kissed back. Seeking for the mouth that he was always fond of. It took a couple of quick seconds before they split and the younger sought out to meet Donghae’s eyes. “What’s wrong?” That was the first question that escaped Bambam’s throat, the main question he wanted an answer to because knowing the brunette nearly inside and out, it was easy to figure out the uneasy feeling that settled around the other but Donghae shook his head, his dorky smile playing his lips.
"Nothing. I just missed you, that’s all."
— current boyfriend, ex-boyfriend. i’m trying to be cool.'am i being paranoid?
His ex? Bambam could feel his stomach twist uncomfortably. That male that was in his room last night was Donghae’s ex? The assistant didn’t know what to make out of that. He put all his trust on his boyfriend but the feeling that there was someone else before him— someone else that Donghae liked enough to claim as his boyfriend made the knots in Bambam’s stomach tighter. What was he supposed to do now? Go and ask why the others ex was in his room when they were supposed to be out on a date? No. Bambam wasn’t going to get all paranoid.
— so i wait for you to call. and i try to act natural.'have you been thinking 'bout him or about me?
Fumbling with his phone, the assistant exhaled a breath of exhaustion. It was nearly midnight and still— Donghae hadn’t called him. There was no silly laughter on the other end of his phone nor was there any special goodnight text and Bambam couldn’t help but feel empty. It was weird where his thoughts led him, how at the end of the day he’d go back to being insecure. But there was a question that couldn’t help but to get him curious — who was the one that Donghae was currently thinking of?
— im going mark my territory.
Back at the second dorm party in the past two weeks, Bambam’s eyes fell onto the one he was looking for. Donghae was just a foot away and yet, instead of reaching over to nudge him and grin his stupid usual grin, Bambam’s fingers curled. He knew why — Donghae’s ex was right beside him and after figuring out the other was apart of his boyfriends history, Bambam hadn’t said much. Ever since their supposed date night nothing but distance grew between them.
Faded text messages, missed phone calls — the two barely hung around at lunch time and it was to the point, those around them started to notice, questioning an answerless Bambam on what exactly happened between the once loving couple.
Surpassing another sigh, probably the nth one that moment, the assistant drank away his problems. If Donghae was going to ignore him, Bambam was going to play the same game — or so, he thought and once the seventh shot of tequila hit him, the younger made him way towards his boyfriend. There wasn’t much words and a conversation was rather impossible to start because, gripping onto the hem of the others collar, Bambam pulled Donghae towards him, crashing their lips for what seemed like after a decade.
The party went on as normal, no one really caring about a typical kiss before Bambam pushed back. His eyes dancing across the others, trying to read his expression because drunk or not, he realizes his actions and everything comes crashing down. What was he currently doing? Marking his territory? Bambam lowered his gaze, ashamed. “Sorry.” He muttered, not paying attention to the other male beside them. “I’m real sorry.”
— please don’t forget me.
He took another breath, his fingers nervously trembling against the door before he mustered his courage and knocked. “Hae…” Bambam called, taking a step in and just like deja vu, his eyes scanned across his boyfriend and his ex back in Donghae’s bedroom. There was a light cringe in his chest and though, Bambam forced himself to not think so far, he couldn’t help it, especially when the arms that always lovingly wrapped around him were now wrapped around a stranger and dropping his gaze on anything and everything that seemed more interesting, Bambam took a step back. “Sorry for intruding…” He apologized.
Though, before he could step himself out and close the door, pretend like he was actually alright, fingers grasped around his wrist and pulled him in. “Whaa—” he blinks not knowing what truly happened but once he found himself back in Donghae’s arms, he couldn’t seem to mind. “This,” The older finally spoke up, his eyes landing on the other male and Bambam stayed mute, wondering what they were discussing.
"This is my boyfriend, Bambam. The only one thats in my heart right now." He continued, his voice serious and stern and the assistant could only wonder when was the actual last time the other got serious? Still, the words overpowered all those thoughts and Bambam felt a couple of squirming butterflies in his stomach. Frankly, he was embarrassed but most of all, he was happy. Donghae used the word ‘boyfriend’ and it wasn’t used to refer his ex but himself, Kunpimook Bhuwakul.
— but im your boyfriend.'now im your boyfriend.
"He came back so sudden— I was surprised but I didn’t want you to find out." Donghae explained, his head lowered and his expression nothing more than that of a kicked puppy. "Having you get involved with my past is cruel, I didn’t want you to get hurt but I think that was inevitable." The flirt sighed, his frown deepening, "but why did you apologize?" Donghae suddenly questioned.
"What?" Bambam then countered, confused.
"After you kissed me at the dorm party, why’d you apologize?"
Bambam chuckled, shaking his head. “Forget about that. Just kiss me now.” And this time it was Donghae who shook his head, childishly folding his arms and pressing them to his chest. “You kiss me first.”
And so Bambam did. Not really holding back. He missed Donghae and having the other back in his arms, the assistant wasn’t going to waste another second.
` snow — I’ll write a drabble of our characters building a snowman together.
Bambam had always preferred the coldness. There wasn’t any significance to it either— he just did and so winter was always a thrill. Despite the vulnerability of catching a cold or slipping every second on anything and everything, the season had always got the young assistant excited. Hence, when Donghae had suggested to waste some time and build a snowman, it was no shock that an immediate ‘yes’ came out of his mouth.
He was going to prove just how close the snow and him where. —That was until he failed to make a proper snowball. The snow was just not settling into its proper rounded shape. Falling right through his fingers mockingly every time. And in the end, Bambam frowned as he stared at the completion of their snowman. Most of it — from bottom to middle, being done by Donghae while the rough top was done by Bambam and he sulked. Simply unpleased with everything.
"You just got lucky." He grumbled to the other while the flirt chuckled before giving him a nudge with the carrot, signalling Bambam to go place it on the nose. It was then a light smile helplessly sketched his lips. Obviously, he figured the other was trying to cheer him up and he nodded, walking over to stick the carrot in its proper place. Placing the finishing touch, both then stared at their hard work.
“Just because you gave me the carrot doesn’t mean I’ll go easy on you during our snowball fight, Donghae.” Bambam stated cockily.
