Well, Dewey here puts every one of them to shame with his exceptional personality and sweetness. This boy is set on changing everyone's mind about the big, bad Pit Bull and he's going to do it by kissing and loving on every person he meets. Because that's Dewey. Dewey loves everyone instantly. Dog or person, Dewey thinks whoever he meets is his newest best friend and he's so excited to meet them and start playing and getting cuddles. Speaking of cuddles, Dewey is a champion snuggler. If medals were given out for best snuggler, Dewey would win gold! He loves his walks and playtime and is hoping his forever home will commit to a lot of toys and walks/runs along with the cuddles. He's young still so has energy to burn and a bit of a mischievous streak when he doesn't get his energy out...somehow the kleenex box exploded in the living room while his foster mom was in the shower, Dewey doesn't know what happened but its lucky he was there to keep anything else from spontaneous combustion.:) No cats for this boy please, they're just too much fun to chase. Dewey is housetrained on a schedule, crates for the workday well, not been a barker, and minds his house manners well. He does require a physically fenced yard due to some "Houdini" moves when tied out. Rashida is a three-year-old, 11-pound Puggle (Pug/Beagle mix). Rashida is a sweet girl who gets along with other pups and loves a good session at the Dog Parks (and Recreation).  Get it?   In fact, Rashida would prefer a home with another pooch. She's housebroken and will use pee pads inside when it's raining out. This little smarty already knows sit, stay, and look. 11/13/17 @becauseanimalsmatter Diego is a male Boxer/Rottweiler mix. He is young (about 2 years old), and weighs about 55 pounds. He still has that puppy energy so would benefit from an active family with a big yard but also loves his walks and the dog park. He is very smart. He knows his name, sit, kennel up, etc. and will learn more as needed. He is also leash trained. He’s ok with other big dogs and cats but tends to let himself be bullied by smaller dogs. See Spot Rescued was founded on the premise that we wouldn’t be able to rescue every dog, but for those that we could rescue, we would treat them as if they were our own. In sickness and in health, no matter their age, breed, no matter what they need - extensive vetting, surgeries - they can rest assured that once they are part of the SSR family, we will care for them and fulfill our mission of finding them a lifetime companion who will provide them eternal unconditional love. But sometimes life throws us a curve ball…

It is with a heavy heart that we update our SSR family & friends on one very special dog, Johnny Cash. Johnny, aka Cash, has been diagnosed with renal dysplasia. He was born with kidneys that do not work to the best of their ability. Sadly, our vet has informed us that his kidneys will continue to lose function and he may only have about a year to live.

Cash doesn’t know that he’s sick and he's as happy and goofy as he’s always been. He isn’t in any pain and just needs to pee more than the average dog. He is on special low protein food and medication.

We are seeking a hospice foster who will give Cash the greatest gift possible - love and a home for the remainder of his life. We're looking for someone who is home due to the frequency of his need to urinate and ideally has a yard. Cash is great with cats, dogs and kids. SSR will continue to pay for all of Cash’s vetting, food and medication.
