Why would you want to watch this one minute video?

Well...I made this video to capture Best Buddies' values and the reason why they are around.  The activities and the fun are just the perks of being part of such a great organization.  Whenever there is an event, I am excited for what lessons I am going to get out of it.  This might sound cheesy... but it's true!  The video helps the audience see the smiles and happy faces that come out of this organization.  The events, runs, and silent auctions are different ways that Best Buddies brings people together.  I am just a single person that supports this organization and may never meet the found, Anthony K. Shriver, but I am doing the same kind of things that he is!  It is incredible how world-wide known this organization has become and that is why I am truly blessed to be apart of it.

This is an advertisement created for a school project. The target of this ad would be 21-29 year olds. The ad is promoting low prices for food and tickets. This would be appealing to young people who might not have a lot of money to spend on a night out. Also the ad mentions that the arena is downtown and near the Third Ward. This is to show that there is a lot to do after or before the game. They walk somewhere after the game if they want to. The ad would run in local sports and entertainment magazines. This would hit the two main target audiences, people who enjoy sports and people who are looking for something new to do.

Miami, November 1, 2012 Best Buddies International, a non-profit organization founded in 1989 by Anthony K. Shriver to establish a global volunteer movement creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships is pleased to announce the 16th Annual Zenith Watches Best Buddies Miami Gala: Russia which will take place at Marlins Park on November 16.

This is the year that we want to expand Best Buddies worldwide and make show people that this is an organization to care about.  Now Russia under our belt, we have much more global expansion around the world.  An organization started by a regular guy from the United States is finally taking flight and ready for the world to see it.

Jean-Frederic Dufour, CEO of Zenith Watches, will be Vice Chair of the Gala, which will have a festive Russian theme celebrating Best Buddies' expansion into Russia.  This event will feature a cocktail hour, dinner, and live music with a silent auction.  Special guest performances from Far East Movement and SkyBlu of LMFAO.

Ronald L. book, long-time Best Buddies International Board member, will be honored with the "Spirit of Leadership" award.  This is an award presented to individuals who have shown generosity, spirit, and leadership.

This event will also include a special announcement regarding a brand-new Best Buddies fundraiser that will take place in Miami next fall.  This event never fails to bring together Miami's most recognized residents and celebrities from around the globe.  Some of these include, Tom Murphy, Jim Lintott, and Miss USA Oivia Culpo.

David Beckham to leave the MLS

Beckham will not retire from the game because he "wanted to experience one last challenge before the end of my playing career." This is not the end of his involvement because he will take advantage of a clause in his contract and stated that his "ambition is to be part of the ownership structure in the future."

His adventure into the MLS was bumpy at first with the team struggling to make the playoffs the first few seasons and commitment issues. In the end, he became a clear success on and off the field. On December 1st, he played in his third MLS Cup Final and won his second championship.

There is no doubt that Beckham accomplished his goal of bringing attention to the MLS and growing the game in America. MLS commissioner Don Garber stated that “there is no doubt that MLS is far more popular and important here and abroad than it was when he arrived.  David has achieved great things on and off the field during his time with the Galaxy, and he will always be an important part of our history." 

Vince, a casual soccer fan, noted Beckham's influence on attracting him to the MLS. He said that he is "more motivated to watch a game if I am able to watch anybody play any sport at his level." Vince also believe that Beckham had a positive effect on the game because his name drew people like him to the game. Another person, Kyle, an avid soccer fan and player, had a different view. He "was already a fan of MLS" so Beckham did not attract him to watch more MLS. Similar to Vince, Kyle commented on his appeal to fans because of "his status as a great soccer player and as a celebrity".

David began his career playing for his boyhood club Manchester United and then moved to Real Madrid in 2003. He has played for the English National Team 115 times and captained the team 50 times. Beckham is married to Victoria Adams who was a member of the Spice Girls who he has three and a daughter with.

ST. ANTHONY PARISH NEEDS HELP RAISING FUNDS FOR "SAVE THE STEEPLE" CAMPAIGN

The steeple entrance of St. Anthony's was closed two years ago as a result of falling masonry and cracks were noticed. The bells have been silenced since last year. The 145 year old church is need of money for repairs.

Pujara Wirth Torke Inc., an engineering firm from Elk Grove has inspected the steeple over the summer. They said that the steeple is in serious need of repair. Krause Konstruction from Coon Valley, Wisconsin has been retained for the project and will permanently repair and stabilize the entire tower and steeple. The steeple roof will also be reshingled as a part of the project.

A campaign was put together and began on October 14, 2012 to raise the necessary $280,000 by the end of 2012. In just six weeks time a total over $115,00 has been raised with the majority coming from parishioner contributions.

The parish has also raised money through an organ concert in October. There is a St. Anthony's Chili Night planned for December 1st. St. Anthony keepsake calendars and notecards also will be available for sale. Some businesses in the Menomonee Falls community have been contacted and have pledged their support for the project.

What are you doing Saturday?

On ESPN at 4:30 EST, the MLS Cup Final will be on. The LA Galaxy are taking on the Houston Dynamo. Oh, you need a few reasons to watch? Ok! These two teams met last year where the Galaxy won 1-0 so the Dynamo will want to get some revenge. The Galaxy are a star-studded team. They have Landon Donovan (American star), Robbie Keane (Irish star), and David Beckham (ever heard of him?). Then the Dynamo are your underdog team. They don't have a big name star but they are 11 guys who love to work together. Also if you're still not watching, it will be Beckham's last game in the MLS. It should be a great match-up

Make the smart decision and tune in. You won't regret it.
