A we’re-trying-to-keep-it-short summary.
Skaar Lhatyn is one of the two founders. Monk from Ala Mhigo, he spent the beginning of his adult life as an unaffiliated adventurer. In the wake of the Calamity however, his husband and him decided to build their own Free Company to aid specifically the Ala Mhigan refugees in Eorzea. The guild is meant to help them settle in La Noscea or, since the liberation of their homeland, travel back to Gyr Abania.
Skaar is currently teaching the way of the Sect of Shadow to new students.
C’yan Tia. Young C'yan hailed from Ala Migo. Out of the country when it all happened, he joined his father in roaming the seas to provide for the family they had amongst the refugees. He settled in the Ruby Sea for a few years, only to return to Eorzea as the empire made its advance towards it. While the people in Eorzea that had mistreated his countrymen ired him, the empire had him seething in cold rage. He came back to quench his fury with imperial blood, and he did so at Carteneau. Years later, what he saw there and after the battle his still imprinted in his mind. Not traumatized, but as a compass as to what happens when civilization let itself be consumed by hate. From there stemmed his efforts to rebuild, truly. Helping refugees, rehabilitating people, caring for the orphans, building a net of support. All the while eliminating any threat whatsoever from the shadows, while being careful to not ever falling prey to hate again. For hatred guides his blade no longer, love for his brethren does.
Gybalwyb Fyrilmothwyn. If you ask her, she's here to make money. To be fair, Gybalwyb isn't from Ala Migho herself, but the fact that many kids from Ala Migho live in her mom's orphanage may or may not give her a strong motivation to contribute in freeing and helping the region so her little siblings might find what's left of their family. In the meantime, she needs more money and will not do charity work.
Koh’a Lizeh. As an adventurer gifted with the Echo, Koh’a made a name for himself by fighting primals when help was needed. He met the Griffins several times through his contracts and became close to them, eventually joining the free company himself.
Between missions, Koh’a teaches writing, reading and history. He’d be hard pressed to tell you which one is his favorite job.
Adrayel Linaeth. It didn’t take much to convince her to join the free company. After years serving in Ishgard, Adrayel joined the Alliance efforts to free Ala Mhigo. There she met Skaar, an apparently grumpy Ala Mhigan with whom she discovered common interest in fighting, drinking and playing cards. She met the rest of the Griffins soon after and, with the promise of juicy contracts and glorious battles, eventually joined their ranks after the Alliance’s victory against the Empire.
Surrounding the Free Company
I’nah Tia. The baby of the company. I'nah is not really a member of the Griffins, but as the adoptive son of the leaders, he inserted himself as something halfway between a mascot and the little brother everybody finds cute. He also can wield his axe with a deadly accuracy that makes him ok to take on a battlefield.
