     FELIX FINDS MEG, close to the next generator he was approaching. He offers a smile, and holds out the toolbox he’d managed to finagle into having more in it. He’s not sure which one of them dropped it; for all he knows it could have been Leon’s - the poor guy getting sacrificed before anything could be done for him. He’s taking a guess it might be Meg’s, however. 

     “ Didn’t see which of you dropped it. ” He gives a light shrug. “ Figured a good a guess as any might be you. There’s more use left in it. Making myself good for something, you know ? ” He chuckles and shakes his head with a smile. “ Anyway, you want it, it’s yours. ”

         “  me? here for tryouts?  ”  hanna echoes, almost in disbelief at the very notion. yes, she’s snooping around the locker room, but she had thought that most team sports had been out of practice for at least an hour. it’s just her luck that there are some late afternoon tryouts scheduled for today. it sure makes snooping a whole lot more difficult. after emily had been left a present in her gym locker by -a, well . . . they were looking for any and all kinds of evidence they could find that pointed toward who -a was. “ i just . . . i forgot something,  ”  quick, think of something,  “  uh . . . a hair clip. a sparkly one. i left it on one of the benches in here when i was changing after gym and i can’t find it. it’s uh . . . really sentimental.  ”

                        life in the fog didn’t seem all that different from the life she had before all of this. most of here time, when she wasn’t literally fighting for her life -- she spent hours in the woods. collecting --  or,  sampling the plants here in the fog. taking notes on the wildlife, or lack there of in the space they’ve been given.  focusing her attention on this, as opposed to thinking too long or hard on what was awaiting her.  

                        it’s never easy thinking about -- let alone talking about their lives before when they were stuck in here. when there was nothing that they could do about it.  but she finds comfort in spending her time with meg,  perhaps simply because of the familiarity of it. but --- it was more than that, she’s never had friends before, so it was hard to pinpoint what it was that made it so easy to talk.  

                        ❛ It’s as if I never existed, because no trace of me remains, I have left no marks. And that way I cannot be followed. ❜  what was said wasn’t even a conscious thought that she’d considered, but once she speaks it causes a lump to form in her throat -- and she has to hesitate, try to recollect herself, before she continues.  ❛ ah.. i,  uh.. ❜  nervously, hands are rubbed on her dirtied jeans, and a shaky breath escapes her.  ❛ i suppose it wouldn’t matter if i was the most influential person in the world, either.. ❜   no one was going to find them here.
