Juche – The Weeping Masses : Part Two ★★★★☆
“No.. you’re not a monster”. The story’s protagonist – Areum – has accepted her new reality as part of the Strayed at Yodok. As she endures hardships and torture, she reminds herself only one thing matters: vengeance. The tension and distance continues to smolder in the Kim family, as Areum finds herself isolated further from who she had once been. ° Upon beginning Juche: The Weeping Masses I was a bit skeptical. By the end of it however, I was pleasantly surprised! Although I still found the writing style to be slightly distracting at times, I was utterly compelled to continue reading to see where the story would lead. I found that the characters were slightly more in-depth and realistic in this one, which I felt made the story more believable in the books entirety. ° After finishing the book, I can honestly say I’m genuinely anticipating reading Juche: The Storm of Storms to see how it concludes! ° Would I recommend? I feel that the book would be an enjoyable read for those interested in dystopian and historical fiction genres. The story itself is intriguing, and certainly leaves you anticipating what happens next! _____________________________________
