Elisa loved watching him when he spent time out of the tub because he was always so curious about everything in her home. She knew that he’d never been in an environment like this before of course so a lot of the surroundings were new to him, yet he was quick at learning what everything was and often how they worked too. Television, she signed, indicating to the TV and waiting to see if he would repeat it back to her.

      Awe was something that had escaped him - living as long as he had and seeing all that he could left him apathetic to beauty of the worlds. Yet in that moment? Awe was the only thing that could describe it. Crouched at the edge of what was an unremarkable river - mismatched eyes boring into those that stared back in turn from the water. 

      Chest tight and eyes narrowed in curious delight, Jareth found himself smiling. Genuinely enthralled as his chin rest in an upturned palm.

kadian talks hel. ll honestly i have so many but you can try for an open number.

1. What makes you the most emotional about your muse?

Everything. Everything makes me emotional about Hel.

No, but in all seriousness... Her backstory compared to her life in the present. Caged bird really is the best way to describe it, as cliche as that sounds. She was born and raised in the forest, then brought to another land and treated as practically a princess, strange but still raised with privilege and distinction as her father’s daughter. She had people who loved her, supported her, and wanted her to be the best she could be... and in a single day that all disappeared.

So now we have this woman, young by the standards of her people, locked away and seeing her potential squandered. She’s good at the job others gave her, but her life isn’t really her own. She cannot walk away from her position or titles, and in that even her power becomes a ball and chain. This isn’t even a title with anything gainful -- nothing in Helheim softens the blow. This is not a place anyone should be.

So yeah. Hel, in general, kind of makes me feel down.

2. What made you decide to write this muse?

Roleplaying with @silvertonguedgod on my OC account and then reading through Gaiman’s Norse Mythology on a rainy afternoon. I had an interest in Hel before that -- creepy emotionally repressed ‘can’t always get what you want’ brunettes are my Type -- but Gaiman’s telling of her tale and Eloki’s encouragement definitely pushed me into committing. I am so delighted I did.

3. If you could change one event in your muse’s life (in their main or canon verse), what would you change?

Already happened -- Let’s let Hel and her brothers be happy kids with no enduring trauma, death, and chains. Let’s strip fate off of them and let them become their own people, without meddling, without ugly things done in the name of their absence. Let Hel be there to meet Vali and Narfi, let those boys grow up with older siblings that would rearrange the stars for them. Let there be no schism in families that have known each other since the founding of worlds. Just. Take back everything that made Hel... Hel.

Going to happen -- Ragnarok. Let certain siblings go free, let the pain mean something more than more pain and warfare. Just let them be. Let them heal. Let them learn to live freely. I need this AU and frankly so does Hel because it would be very interesting to explore.

4. If you could tell your muse one thing, what would you tell them?

Things can only get better after it all.

5. If you could give your muse one gift, what would you give them?

A hug.That or a book of some sort.

Eventually he pulled out his blade, cutting the shark nets that were caught around the other, essentially putting the net well out of use for the surfacewalkers, meaning no more gills getting glubbed up in the ropes.
