Earlier I took a Pantone swatch book to the local hardware emporium, and requested they match a certain color for just enough paint for me to paint a door in my condo.
"Let's see if we can find something close," the paint guy said.
"It needs to be exact," I said.
And then I stopped myself from explaining, because nobody should try to justify their insistence on an exact paint color because it's the official color the producing network uses to paint a time machine in a children's television drama series made in another country.
