Is Machapuchare the most beautiful mountain of the Himalayas? This view of Machapuchare (6,993m), was captured by Romanian couple Cosmin Andron and Cristina Pogacean last year. They took this photograph while climbing a peak called Ghandarbha Chuli (6,300m), which is on the same ridge. Machapuchare is revered by the local population as particularly sacred to the god Shiva, and hence is off limits to climbing.
