Ward traditions for the season of giving

As we prepare for advent Mary Ward has a tradition of TA advent projects every year. 2022 has been a rough year but this did not stop the Mary Ward community from giving and being charitable. Every year TAs join together to give love and to give what they can to a participating charity. This year the charities were Good Sheppard ministries, Covenant House, Aid to Women, and Loretto sisters. All TAs attended an assembly in the cafeteria where all charities introduced themselves. Good Sheppard ministries is a charitable aid for people experiencing homelessness, hunger, loneliness, and addictions. Covenant House is a foundation for youth experiencing homelessness and sex trafficking in Canada. Aid to women helps babies and moms in crisis pregnancies. Through the Angel foundation, the Loretto sisters help Immigrants and Refugees in Canada and throughout the world.
All of these charities asked for our help through money, hygiene products, canned goods, clothing, and any life essentials someone in need can use. Following this, TAs chose a charity they wanted to give to. The charity chosen by TA#69 was Covenant house. Through the assembly, many know where the donations are going. This season of giving the whole school community has worked together for a great cause and truly embraced the virtue of Charity.
