I am sorry to bother you with another message, but I thought you would like to be kept upadted about the package issue, and I want to grab this chance to explain in details what the hell is happening lol
I apologize in advance because this message is probably going to be long and kinda complicated too orz
Well as you know that doorbell mishap happened and because of that I wasn’t able to retrieve the package when it arrived.
I contacted the s.d.a services to tell them to bring the package again and they were supposed to do so in the next 24/48 hours.
(just so you know the italian mail services aka “poste italiane” has some sort of sub-courier company, which would be the s.d.a; even though they are actually just two different “sides” of the very same company, they have different buildings/databases/employers/etc).
They didn’t come. I am sure of it not only because I put a warning to point out the right doorbell and payed extra-attention to every ring and such; but also because every time they try to deliver something and fail they are supposed to leave a printed warning, telling me they tried. It’s standard procedure, but there was no warning left for me (like there was the first time I effectively failed to retrieve it). They also had my mobile phone contact to reach me in case they didn’t find me at home etc etc but no one has called.
I made a second attempt - calling once again the assitance service-, but the same thing occurred once again.
Talking on the phone with someone working for the s.d.a they said the package wasn’t in their care because the warning series number didn’t appear in the datbase (funny thing: if it wasn’t in their care, why the hell the warning had the s.d.a logo?!). That honestly confused me a lot
When you gave me the tracking code, I went to the s.d.a website and, indeed the code didn’t exist in their databases, nor it did the warning series number. I admit I got scared the package had actually gotten lost somewhere unknown and that the ups site had a wrong info :/
But then I decided to look on the poste italian main website and the tracking code did result there. Not only that, but it specified that s.d.a were the ones who had the package in their cares. (and that they had tried to re-bring it every day since the first try, which is complete bullshit as I’ve said because no one had rung, no one had called and no warning was left when they are obliged to leave it.)
I made an attempt to retrieve it myself and went to the post office or my neighbourhood. They couldn’t find the warning series number in their databases either (I don’t fucking know what kind of mess they managed to do with that printed warning tbh), but they did find the package and told me they couldn’t give it to me because they didn’t have it yet: it is in the s.d.a’s building (which is basically on the opposite side of the city from me) and they obviously can’t give it to me unless s.d.a finally will do what it’s supposed to do, aka either giving me the package or giving it “my” post office, so that they can give it to me.
I filled a complaint form also thanks to the code you gave me the other day and tomorrow they are supposed to finally give me an answer. I hope things will be cleared out soon (and if it comes to the worst I will go myself to the s.d.a and let hell get lose tbh, because the mess they have done is unacceptable. I suppose they have failed to register the package code in their databases or something like that and that’s why it doesn’t appear, idk. But anyway they have it and it’s ridiculous they still haven’t re-brought it yet and basically failed to do everything they were supposed to. And this time around it were cds (which were something quite of a value already), but what if the packed contained something even more expensive and important?! I am speechless.)
And... that was it. As you see things are quite a mess and... well, I had a reason to fear the local post services would screw up. But still I hope things will get solved :3
