i'm getting kin feelings for springtrap, not the person inside, not who the suit was before (spring bonnie), but springtrap. i can only describe it as a "corrupted", more dark spring bonnie. is this even possible? am i just weird?

I don’t think it’s that weird? Your word choice makes it seem like you’re not entirely sure about Spring Bonnie though, maybe you were that suit but don’t ‘identify with it’ anymore in some way. 

I’ve heard theories that there were two sets of the springsuits, like how there’s ‘Springbonnie with bowtie’ and ‘Springbonnie with one button’. Though I don’t personally think that’s game canon, perhaps your AU was like that, a spare suit maybe?

 On terms of being ‘weird’, keep in mind how many people here are kin with robots, not the souls haunting them, so don’t worry about that -- its pretty normal in this community!

Keep working at what your feelings are telling you, and if you hit the point where you’re perfectly happy with what it is, you don’t have to ‘explain’ anymore; you are you in whatever canon you were in. The only explaining you should have to do to anyone, is yourself, and only if you want to. Sometimes kin stuff is just the way it is!

(synpaths and cc anon here) good points ! i will say though i mean more so like ,, this character comforts me greatly where i'll think of/do self insert things to make me feel better but im also feel like they're me ?? (or i feel super emotionally attached, that being synpath. but in this mean time i've been feeling more kin(?) feels ya know) ,, but i guess another thing could be they're more of a cc when im not in a shift of them ? and then less when im in a big shift *shrugs*

Hm... So like, a kintype that you feel a good bond to and feel comfortable with, but you do non kin-related general-fandomy things with them ‘as a character’? That doesn’t seem weird at all to me. 

It sounds sort of like, if they’re a kintype they’re a kintype, and anything CC related is just personal stuff? One way to look at it might be that you’re not physically/literally this character In This Life, so this-life stuff can easily be separate, but you’re still the character in other ways. 

Remember; a kintype isn’t always a character you like, and a lot of people actually hate their kintypes. Therefore it’s just as reasonable that you like a character a lot outside of being them, right?

More than anything, really don’t worry too much about it. None of this invalidates anything, do what feels comfortable!

Do you think it's possible/okay for someone to be Synpath even kin w/ one of their comfort characters? (Like at the same time) I might be questioning that sorta thing but I've never really seen that before

It’s not really like these things have a lawbook, it’s more that there’s a lot of phrases and identifiers to help one another understand each other’s experiences, but then people get mad for some reason.

Onto the question, Synpath and Kin-hearted are both roughly defined as ‘Identifies with but not as’ (Unless someone went around updating terms again), and Comfort Characters are a character that brings you comfort, right? (Lightly avoiding semantics with the word ‘copingkin’ right now but mentioning it due to possible relevance.)

It sounds to me like a comfort character can be literally anything; plenty of people find comfort in kintypes of all kinds. 

Although adding characters to lists multiple times may look cluttered eventually, I see no reason why all synpaths/kintypes can’t also be comfort characters? Heck if anything, there should be identifiers of kintypes that make you Uncomfortable, as comfort seems to be default.

Hey um, I'm kind of a questioning Marionette kin and I haven't really had any memories or anything, just obscure dreams and a bit of an obsession with the style. is there anything I could do to trigger memories or anything I could do to test the connection?

If you’re sure of the connection to the universe, you could relax and think of yourself ‘as’ the other characters. Like mental roleplaying, sort of. Imagine you’re the night guard lighting up the hallway, a Bonnie in the vents, a Freddy, toy Foxy or Chica roaming the building ... you probably shouldn’t shove a flashlight in your face for Foxy, but you could imagine it! Just ‘test’ the characters closest to you, and see if the Marionette still feels the most ‘natural’. 

When testing connections in this way, it can be good to be thorough. Play ambience, keep checking on how you feel and your emotions, and don’t ignore any part of it. If it feels wrong, figure out in what way it’s wrong. Maybe you’ll realize ‘This animatronic was with me a lot, pretending to be my friend feels weird’, or ‘I didn’t like this person, I’m feeling a little upset’. Other times, though probably more rarely, this method might make you realize ‘This feels even more comfortable, in fact I think the Marionette was my friend and that’s why I feel so close to them.’

Although kin isn’t a roleplaying thing at all, this acting method is inspired by people who realized they were kin through roleplaying a kintype, and may be a smooth way to test how natural it may feel as well as prompt small memories.

It’s also important to note that memories come in several ways, as any memory does. Whether through daydreaming, suddenly remembering, dreaming, or just ‘knowing’ small or big facts, they are memories!

Is it weird to be kin with 2 characters that actually interacted with eachother? Like I have memories of both,and I can remember both of the thoughts from each side of a conversation they had,it seems odd to me.

Unusual, probably, yes, but I couldn’t rule it out as impossible.

It depends on how you feel your kintypes ‘became you’, really.

Although multiverse-multicanon can explain some things, it may not explain all, and heck, even if you can’t explain it, sometimes things just happen. If they’re you, they’re you, friend.

Okay so I'm begging to question kin with the older brother and for some reason when people mention the crying child I either get really nervous or mad at myself??? Help ????

If the emotions are the only thing, it could stem from discomfort from the situation itself.  Do you feel the emotions came before or after you began to question the older brother? Do you have any other feelings or memories in regards to the crying child, or about things that maybe the game didn’t show (home life, the other kids/bullys, etc)?

We can’t really help in regards to questioning kin aside from sample questions to ask yourself, but as for feeling better about what happened… the past is in the past, and sometimes ‘a joke’ goes too far really fast. Although feeling bad for what happened is natural, try to not allow it to affect your current life too much. Everyone involved in the situation was very young, as well as peer pressure, and an adult should have been supervising, so it is not entirely any single person’s fault. 

Some people who feel nervous, self-hate or guilt over kintypes (even questioning ones) may anonymously confess (Here or other blogs) or directly message those kin of the affected (IE, the crying child), so it’s not too weird to do if it makes you feel better. If you go for direct, ensure that they’re okay with you talking to them first!

Keep in mind that Funtime Foxy (Sister Location) and Funtime / Toy Foxy (fnaf 2) are clearly not the same animatronic. Same/similar design and name, but if Mangle’s face opened, we’d know.

If you feel connected to Toy Foxy / Mangle but not Funtime, or vice versa, that’s okay! You weren’t the same robot, not entirely (unless that’s how it was in your canon, but keep in mind people’s canons always differ).

If you feel connected to Toy Foxy / Mangle and Funtime, that’s also okay! It’s the same/similar design and name, and depending on placement, spirits can drift just as they could between Withered/Toy/Classics. 

And of course, seeing one that looks a lot like you can drum up kinfeels, so it’s understandable to be in some disarray until you’re more sure of yourself.

A lot of kin stuff is ‘This matches me, I know it in my soul’ sort of thing. It’s okay to be wrong, or drift, especially when there’s similar characters especially from the same series like this. 

There’s a lot of excitement for the new game. Let that die down, give it some thought, and don’t worry, okay? You’re all valid.

Um, hi, I want to talk to people kin with/fictives of my friends, but um I'm really nervous to um. Talk to people, and sometimes when I do things don't go very well. Andd what if they don't like me? Or what if I do something wrong. Um I just really miss my friends

Talking to people can be hard, especially if they’re basically strangers! Although your canon is a good reason to meet up, it’s important to make friends based on the current life before anything else. Even fictives might have some new interests! Not everyone may get along as good as you all used to either, as well as finding people sharing your personal canon is more difficult than you might think. 

Just try to keep calm and remember a lot of people are as anxious as you are, I’m sure you’ll make good friends soon!
