Serious advice if you’d like, ignore if not.

If you’re renting, make sure you take pictures/videos of every room. Document any damage before you move in.

That way when you move out, your landlord has to pay you back your security deposit and you have proof of prior damages you did not cause.

I’ve heard this but it is very important and good advice.
