This is just to let you know that I will not be on tumblr for the next week to week-and-a-half. I have a lot of things to do and am very bad at getting things done with tumblr open in my browser. So I won't be posting anything or answering messages in that time. An especial apology to my newer followers, and best wishes to all for a happy first week of May,

Hey everyone :)

I know I'm posting a lot of book quotes today, and I hope it's not annoying for any of you. If it is, this is just to let you know that I've been doing this whenever I finish a chapter of The Lord of the Rings (some chapters, like this one, quoted more heavily than others) and it's not a permanent shift in post content. I've tried to spread out the posts but it gets so beautiful towards the end of this chapter that I will probably not resist posting the rest tonight. I haven't even started reading the next chapter though, so it will probably be a while before the next round of quotes after this. And if you do enjoy it, I'm glad of course!

Dear (mutual) followers: if I like, and then re-like, and even maybe re-like again certain of your posts, it's because I'm trying to keep them sifted to the top of my like queue so that I can find them when I want to post them. I make an attempt to reblog gifs/photos from LOTR at roughly the same time as I post the appropriate book quotes, and that takes some post juggling.

Just to let you all know, I somehow am not getting new message notifications or new follower notifications, so I'm checking them manually once in a while. The point is, if I don't respond right away, it's because I haven't seen you yet. :)

Advisory message!

To the tumblrers who have started following me since I last made a LOTR book quote post:

First of all, thank you. Like everyone else, I love getting new followers and I hope that you enjoy most of what I post.

Secondly, if you reblog the quotes, feel free to erase the notes I often put in the source section. I put them there in the hope that they will be appreciated, as well as for my own benefit, of course, but if you'd rather not have them don't let that keep you from reblogging the quote altogether. I sometimes erase personal notes when I reblog things too, and I won't be offended.

Just to let the interested among you know: I added lyrics and their translation to my  'J’avais rêvé d'une autre vie' post. They're pretty bleak, of course, which I try to avoid on my blog, but it's so beautifully sung (and she does find peace eventually) so I'm making an exception. I know it drives me a little crazy to hear a song in a foreign language, and love it, and not know exactly what's being said.

Well, the time has come. I love tumblr and I really enjoy interacting with all of you, dear people, but I've got to confess now that I've been self-medicating with blogging and have been struggling with depression all this time, and now I've got to deal with the consequences of neglected duties. If I do manage to continue blogging in a reduced way, the content of my posts won't change or anything. If not, (and it would be from losing my computer, not self-harm or suicide), this is just to let you all know what's up, and to thank you very much for supporting me when I needed it. I had always been disdainful of online relationships before, but I believe that the friendships some of us have established are meaningful, and I really do have a lot of affection for you.
