.:Ken’s memories
[note: this is pulling a canon divergent route since it’s too hard for me to mix all Adv-02-and-Tamers material here as it was presented to the audience.]
Ken got a digivice after witnessing a battle in August 2000, with his big brother Osamu, around Tamachi, and then had his first adventure alongside Akiyama Ryo – Osamu’s classmate. The trip was fun but once he returned home Osamu snatched the digivice from Ken’s hands and forbade the boy to use it.
Then… Osamu died. And Ken’s copying mechanism was studying and trying to keep living, until he got back there, again, with Ryo to fight a menace. But he got hit by a dark spore and fell ill.
He was cured from the unknown illness, but parted ways with Ryo. Or rather, Ryo disappeared. Another void consumed his heart, until he found out a mysterious email telling him to use Osamu’s digivice again. And thus… The Digivice of Darkness was created in the Dagomon’s Ocean.
Ken returned to the Digital World, with half of his memories blocked due to stress and trauma, only to start causing havoc in the Digital World. New Children appeared to face him, and in the end he lost to them. They opened his eyes and his heart was finally found again. The real Ken is not a coldhearted person, it’s a gentle and caring one. Wormmon’s death threw Ken into another traumatic experience, leading him to get sick again… Until he managed to reencounter Wormmon again.
With Wormmon back, Ken went back to the Digital World in order to help to restore it, and pay for his acts. The Chosen Children recognized his efforts and they started to form a bond of friendship. More and more misfortune happened to the six, but Ken had help now and they surpassed all of those obstacles, overcoming despair and sadness.
Now, Ichijouji Ken lives with a reminder to not fall into that darkness, in his neck. He’s starting to decide his own future… And have some fun with his friends after all.
