Best wishes to you both!
Some frames of a tiny animatic I’m working on ٩(๑`^´๑)۶
Hoping to finish before my semester starts ;_;
yeah thorin girl whatever
(I got this from a post abt how Bilbo would braid Myrtle’s hair and Thorin gets jealous bc the braids are super intricate and he thought that Bilbo learned to braid for some hobbit lass but turns out he learned from competitive pie making competitions, I just can’t for the life of me find the post again)
After getting married and becoming consort of erebor, Bilbo braids Thorin’s hair everyday, because of this Thorin’s hair is always incredibly intricate. One day he might have his hair fashioned into horns, the next an intricate braid crown, next a flower out of braids. So when they’re fighting Thorin’s hair is loose, like how it was on the road when he had bigger problems than styling his hair.
This is how the mountain knows the mood of their king, if his hair is loose then he’ll be in a foul mood because his consort won’t braid his hair.
In the middle of the second film, Peter Jackson realized that gay drama was not enough and forced Martin and Richard to act out a dark romance.
That's how we got bagginshield.
T4T Bagginsheild thoughts
To outsiders, the hobbits of the Shire seem perfectly polite and proper, but Bilbo was well aware of the bigotry one could hide behind simple pleasantries. Hobbits are sadly quite... traditionalist, and it was rare enough to find one who didn't think of him as Mad Baggins, let alone someone who truly respected him.
And because of their backwards thinking, hobbits are very behind in terms of trans health care. In fact, Bilbo had never even considered that care could go beyond what it was in Hobbiton, and so he had learned to be content enough with his simple home, bound chest, and difficultly acquired testosterone.
Dwarrow, on the other hand, are woke as fuck. Thorin woke-nsheild and his cunt-pany.
When Thorin comes out to him, Bilbo almost thinks he's messing with him. This big, masculine dwarf king was just like him and told him so very casually, like there was nothing to it. And then he finds out that actually everyone knows and has no problem with it? Crazy.
They have some awkward conversations and overall bond over some shared experiences.
One day when they make camp, Bilbo sits down and starts rubbing his side, his ribs aching from months of constantly binding. When he realizes it's just him and Thorin, he decides to ask how he's managing to bind without pain, figuring Thorin may have a better method or some great pain tolerance.
Thorin hums questioningly.
"Hmmm? Oh, I don't anymore."
"Oh, alright, sorry… I hadn't considered you might just be naturally flat," Bilbo chuckles.
"I'm not. I got rid of them." Thorin says curtly but not unkindly.
"... what?"
"My chest? I had surgery. I got rid of them."
"... WHAT?"
Thorin explains that top surgery is quite normal and, before the fall of Erebor, was accessible health care for many dwarrow.
Of course, Thorin hadn't gotten his before Smaug took the mountain. Instead, it was done by some barely qualified human surgeon who left incisions more than a touch jagged. Furthermore, he couldn't exactly take perfect care of his scars, needing to work in the sun and in hot forges, providing for the company.
Long story short, Thorin was quite insecure about his scars, but that shame quickly melted away the first time Blibo saw him shirtless. He'd never seen so much admiration before.
And of course Bilbo admired them; they were visible proof that he was with a people that would accept him and with a lover that could understand him. Even better, they were Thorin… and Thorin was his. What could be more beautiful?
