I walked over to him as he went about getting the stone. I could've sworn I heard something in the distance when he whacked the stone. I turned to look at him once he nodded at me. I smiled gently, “We can keep going,” I said softly flexing my fingers, “is the next stone near-” I turned my attention to my right, “Was it just me or did you see something over on that side?”
He had started to nod when she turned and grew tense, his eyes following the way she was looking before he turned about, and almost pressed his back against hers.
“Somethin’ ain’t right,” he mumbled. “Air feels thicker…”
He reached back, giving her hand a squeeze before he heard the movement again. He turned about to look at her when he caught the movement of something just above them, and with a grunt tugged her backwards as a large, long, spider like appendage slammed into the ground where she had once stood.
He groaned. “Ah shit, why did it have to be the thing of my worst nightmares?!”
The large Arachne made it’s way closer, before he started to backup, pulling her with him, and surprising even himself, he made sure that he was between her, and the daemon.
“Where there’s one, there’s more…do we fight or run Doll?”
