Good Night

"You are extremely kind, Aruk. Definitely not a Dotharl."
“....thanks, Balt.”
At Rest.

Svalgaard chuckled softly and shook his head. “Just a social call, Balt. Haven’t had much time to catch up so I thought it’d be nice. I’m buyin.”
He grinned and crossed his arms over his chest. He had been wanting a chance to catch up properly with his friend. Independent work had kept him rather busy lately but with a stretch of free time coming up why not spend it catching up with friends?

His gilded mask could only partly hide his amusement at being deflected so bluntly - the mask but covered the upper half of his face, the clever and simple use of dark glass obscuring brilliant red eyes. Below the mask, the corner of Yuun’s mouth twitched into a small smile.
“Not confident enough to put your feet on a dance floor?” The words were spoken in jest; he followed them up with a wave of his hand, as if to cast them out of the air as his eyes slid over to the buzzing mass of partygoers. His ears swiveled with his gaze, velvety white twitching at the amount of noise.
“I’m not looking to dance, if that will allay your displeasure.” He tore his eyes from the scene, turning around to pour himself a glass of wine. One hand rose to throw his braided length of hair behind his shoulder. “I’m not terribly fond of large gatherings like this - haven’t imbibed nearly enough yet.”
He did well enough in such settings; it was easy to act warm, charming. A few well-placed words and acquiescing to a request for a dance or a conversation were all that was really needed.
“I was hoping for a slow moment, before someone inevitably notices I’ve escaped the crowd.”
