These pictures highlight some of the things I hate about my body. But I don't care, because they also capture an activity that I love, and I want to celebrate that. 2019 was stressful. For a lot of people. I didn't realise it in the moment, but it hit me tonight that yes, last year was bloody hard. Due to injury/workload/headspace, I found that a lot of weeks I either couldn't get to class, didn't have the energy to go to class, or couldn't give myself permission to take that time out for myself. But fuck that. What's the point if you can't do the things that make you feel alive? So, no, I've not improved as much as I hoped I would. And yes, the abundance of vegan junk food has made it easier than ever to eat my feelings, which then makes aerial harder when I do go because I'm heavier. But I'm trying to adopt the body neutrality approach that @jameelajamilofficial talks about and post these pictures without thinking too much about the parts I don't like. Thank you to @maisieinmotion @lornamoves and the @leedsaerialarts family for always being super encouraging 💖💖💖 #iweigh #aerialsling #aerialprogress #aerial #thisgirlcan #bodyneutrality #lifeisbetterupsidedown #alltheveganjunkfood #plantpowered (at Leeds Aerial Arts) https://www.instagram.com/p/B7JpKEhHKcN/?igshid=15j05zgyyw1he
