All Lined Up For Summer Season 2015

It’s my pleasure to hereby announce that after the winter of discontent, we are now all ready for the summer season 2015. Here at our little base in Czechland. And things has been progressing rather nicely. We just received a new ‘toy’, the Piper L-4 Grasshopper.

The Show Must Go On

It’s early Saturday morning. Foggy patches are melting down with orange sunrise over the hills and I stand at the doors of hangar with cup of tea and Weetabix biscuit in my hand. It’s a complete silent, just a chilly morning wind blows. And I convince myself, how significant are these quiet moments of self-reflection.

Air Smolik Was Born

Classmates at Oxford Aviation Academy called me Air Smolik, because of my funny surname. So It came to me one night as I was falling asleep. And the next night brought the same thought, yet concerning more details. I got up then, and registered domain. One night of April, 2012 an AirSmolik.com was born.

I’m a pilot seeking job for airlines and I spend my spare time by flying as well. Obviously father is the same. We’ve got also strong passion for vintage aircrafts and the family collection is still growing up.

I grew up at small airport with constant sound of airplane engines on background. And I love that sound. It’s my life.

What’s Air Smolik, though?

Flying is awesome! And it’s even more nice, if you can share it. That’s why I use social sites a lot and share photos and videos and knowledge. I want to share my bit and find similar people as well. Lenka is doing amazing job in this part. She is great designer and also Facebook genius!

Our collection is based in Prague, Czech Republic, in the middle of the Europe and we fly a lot. We are also teaching people to fly, operating commercial air transportation with Cessna 414 and in a spare time we are often visiting air shows with our old timers or aerobatic specials.

Long way to go

However I do live in England, studying Oxford Aviation Academy to make my dream come true as British Airways pilot.

I suppose I’m a big dreamer. But every big thing starts with dream, doesn’t it? In the future I would love to see myself in a cockpit of Boeing 777 as for job. And in the spare time, in the old piston powered airliner from 50’s such as Douglas DC-6 or Lockheed Constellation. Four barking engines flying over the Atlantic. That would be awesome.

Sometimes I also wonder how many people would be interested to buy a ticket. Fair enough maybe. Such a traveling can be a style again. At last for some people. Can somebody see it as a cool in these days? I don’t know but existence of The Flying Bulls, Breitling Flyers or Historical Flight Foundation is showing there is a way.

There is always a way . .
