❣️ What are their love languages?
James shows his affection through verbal communication. He will make it very clear that he appreciates you and will devote all of his attention to you. But he can be easily sensitive towards physical touch. He loves the idea of hugging or holding hands, but it also makes him feel nervous and vulnerable. He would have to have a lot of trust in someone for him to do so.
🌙 What’s their sleep schedule like?
Like the others, James makes sure to sleep early (Like sometime between 11-12 at night) so that he can get up for work in the morning. He may be exhausted after a long day, but he is willing to sacrifice his sleep if it means presenting his splendid self the next day. (After all, he spends at least 30 minutes getting ready in the morning.)
🎁 How do they feel about their birthday/birthdays in general?
On the surface, James wants everyone to worship him on his birthday and expects a special celebration just for him. In reality, he just wants to be valued and appreciated by others, hoping that there was a reason he was born on this very day. He had spent most of his childhood spending it alone and he can’t bear to go through that again. Luckily for him, his coworkers are more than happy to treat him decently on his birthday.
🧑🦰 Have they ever dyed their hair? Ever cut it themself?
Before working on Sodor, James had thoughts about dying his hair but never knew what color would look good on him. He was fine with his naturally black hair. After receiving his new red uniform, he loved it so much that he knew this would be a perfect opportunity to finally do so. And of course he choose the color red.
He also had sharp wavy hair, but ever since his accident on his first day, he had to cut it off. He decided to keep it short but he does eventually let it grow again.
🍷 How do they feel about alcohol?
James doesn’t drink often but will gladly have some during parties and special occasions. He goes for the fanciest drinks available (his favorite’s champagne) so that he feels sophisticated. But best beware, he gets tipsy very fast.
🗣️ How do they handle public speaking?
James is very good at it. As long as he has a script in his mind, he will internally recite over and over until he’s ready to give it out. Brimming with confidence, he speaks about what is on his mind and makes his points loud and clear. It’s debatable if this is effective or not though.
🎮 What’s their favorite game?
James is not into videos games, but he would most likely get hooked into competitive party games. He enjoys the thrill of being the best and beating everyone else, so expect him to gloat in your face if he happens to win first place in a racing game or win in a minigame based on pure luck. It doesn’t even matter if he loses and throws a tantrum, he WILL play again just to make sure he wins the next time.
💓 What are some signs they’ve fallen for someone? How do they show their affection?
If James falls for someone, hoo boy. He will do ANYTHING to be validated by them and stay by their side. He will often shower them with compliments and agree with whatever they say or do. He will often ask them if they have any free time available so he could spend time with them. This behavior isn’t healthy in the slightest, so he has a long way to go to show his affection in more healthier ways.
🤡 What’s something dumb they’re embarrassed about?
There are countless incidents that James feels embarrassed about, such as the Bootlace Incident, the Tar Wagon Crash, the Trouble with a Tree, etc., and he feels dumb for letting them happen. Every time someone tries to bring it up, he will immediately tell them to shut up.
🌱 Do they have a green thumb or are they a plant killer?
Unlike Henry, James isn’t interested in taking care of plants. He is most likely to kill them, but if you persuade him enough, he will be willing to keep a close eye on them. Just don’t expect him to be thrilled about it.
