There were faces Esme had taken for granted while on the Ark. She figured she would see these faces almost every day of her life, but when Raven Reyes seemed to all but disappear, that started to change. Her mother had chosen to be apart of the culling to give her child a chance in this new world. Other neighbours went with her, and before long, the Ark was plummeting to the ground, and more of those faces disappeared forever. More of the station she was on made it than the others. Still, there were bodies littered around her when she was shaken awake. That feeling of falling hits her in the stomach, pulling her down. The feeling startles her awake, and she scans the room around her for a moment before realising that was is just a dream. Esme releases a sigh of relief when she pushes up from the bed. As she rounds the corner to find something to drink, she spots Avery, one of those faces she had taken for granted for so long. “Late shift?” she asks, brows furrowed.
