Aespia at Grow Tottenham

With summer coming to a close and winter begins to bite down Jodie made plans for gathering to see out the change of the seasons. Grow Tottenham was the venue to hold the event which had a familiar look of art and music being combined to make a day and night that was both interactive and fun. The biggest addition to this Aespia was the glass theatre of which had a huge line up of very eclectic performances that touched on many different subjects. I was once again tasked with capturing the events as it unfolded and what a joy it was be part of it all.

Aespia in Time Out Feature

So in the run up to the latest and greatest Aespia event of which I was attending as the event photographer, Time Out produced a small online feature on the upcoming event. So I can now say that my photos have been used on Time Out which is pretty cool. The day festival was a huge success, just make sure you keep your eyes peeled for the winter Aespia in November.

Aespia at Bestival 2017

So I’ve just finished editing the photos from the  2018 Aespia take over of Bestival and Camp Bestival woods. This reminded me that I never posted anything about last years adventure. I was lucky enough to be invited by Jodie to come and capture the weekends action in the Lulworth Estate woods. Wether it was the painting workshops, dream catcher making in Nan’s Gaff or the party really going off at the shack I was there to document it all. A great time was had by all.

Ibiza voice introducing the shack interview feature //

The shack of which is the creation of Arlen Figgs and a major feature of the Aespia festival set up has unsurprisingly been grabbing the attention of a lot of people. Music Culture website Ibiza Voice is just the latest with an interview with Arlen on their site that features a few images I shot of the shack at this years Bestival. Aespia Festival 

In mid August me and my good friend and fellow photographer made our way to a secret location just North of Hemel Hempstead. We had been invited to shoot what was once known as Lost. Now rebranded as Aespia the festival has still held on to its air of secrecy and the art basis that had made it so very unique. 

Shooting the Twenty Four hour festival was great fun with so much going on all the time. During the day the woods was a wash of colours due to the huge number of art workshops running and then during the night everywhere was lit up with lazers and the music had everyone moving and shaking.

Much thanks to Josh and Jodie for trusting both myself and Will to capture their beautiful little arts festival. I can't wait to do it all over again.
