The Twins are in the van, with the-fallen-collective leaning on Einsam.

windyskiez is near the van.

creatorbiaze and the Girl are in an alley.

Rosalie keeps going between the van and the alley.

Jack has flown off to investigate something that he sensed, but no one else did.

nomouthbutimustscream is in another alley, as is itsokayto-punchnazis (not the same alley))

theimmortalsword is standing next to the van.)

@creatorbiaze gives the Girl gentle headpats after she goes down, shooting a weak smile in gratitude.

@nomouthbutimustscream rushes over and checks the Girl for injuries, before carefully picking her up. The Girl lets out a weak hum of agreement, opening her eyes slightly for just a second to let everyone know she hasn’t passed out. But she’s breathing faintly and it’s raspy.

@theimmortalsword climbs on a dumpster and on top of the van. Better defense, another pair of eyes.

“I– I can check for medkits,” Malvagio whispers in response to the question @the-fallen-collective asks, swallowing. “B—But maybe after we get outta here? Quickly?”

Rosalie lets out an overwhelmed whimper, floating in an agitated manner. She goes back to the van, sitting down and curling up as best she can.

Einsam picks up on the tension in the air, muttering a curse under xer breath. “I am assuming the Girl is unable to drive… does anyone else have experien—”

With a sound similar to the wind at the beginning of a tornado, Jack rushes back.

“WE NEED TO FUCKING GO, 𝘕𝘖𝘞!"

In the distance, there is the faintest screech.

(Prepare for sarcasm off the walls, folks)

@the-fallen-collective starts high-tailing down a clear path, the light of the ring acting as a guide again. For an abandoned SWAT van, it’s able to move at a surprisingly high speed, much higher than the average car.

Malvagio yelps slightly, gripping the edge of the seat despite being buckled up. Einsam merely jerks to the side slightly, decidedly not saying anything, xey are too tired to vocalize any form of curse.

@nomouthbutimustscream adjusts the mirrors to be angled enough to see behind the van, as much as possible.

“Aye,” Jack answers in response to the questions, grunting slightly and holding onto one of the handlebars overhead. It’s clear he was expecting to move fast, but not 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 fast. “Impressive speed, mate! And as for where these bloody things came from, no damned idea.”

In the glove box, a semi-automatic pistol is found. Why it’s in the glove box in the first place, no idea, but it works. At least two or three magazines* are there as well.

@theimmortalsword grabs onto the siding of the van when the van tears down the road, looking off to the side, and then slowly raises. On exposed skin, a long sword from thin air. The player then crouches and gets into a battle stance.

The screeches subtly grows distant, but that doesn’t mean anything. After all, the van is moving in incredible time.

Malvagio’s eyes close, forcing deep breaths while whispering under their breath. Einsam merely sits back, holding onto a nearby handlebar after feeling around. Xey raise an eyebrow at Malvagio, lightly tilting xer head.

“Are you… praying?”

“We’re getting chased again, going really fuckin’ fast, Ein—”

“Did you do this last time, when the Girl was driving?”

“Yes! And how are you so calm?!”

“Vehicular peril’s the last of my worries.”

@creatorbiaze holds onto the edge of the seat, Rosalie quickly floating over to seek comfort. She whimpers, eyes wide and looking between the front and the van’s back doors. It seems even she can’t sense what’s out there.

“‘course, mate!” Jack grins after @the-fallen-collective responds, before he nods slightly, eyebrow risen. “Hellspawns is a good description of those damned things.”

Checking over the pistol, @nomouthbutimustscream loads it while rolling down the window, sticking out the muzzle. Rosalie swallows, peeking around hesitantly, before whispering.

“It-it keeps us safe. Let-let us know when somethin’ is tryna kill us. I-it’s kept the others from dyin’—”

Thunder rolls overhead, one side to the next, rattling windows of nearby buildings that are quickly passed. Yet, since there is no time or way for people to cover their ears, close their eyes, and crouch, it seems to take some semblance of mercy. No lightheadedness claims anyone.

In the back of the van, near the Girl, @windyskiez , @creatorbiaze, Rosalie, and the Twins, @3theghost3 lays.

("You are smart in not trusting the silence.")

I pat Rosalie with my free hand, pulling her into a loose hug.

oh great.. thunder.. glad nothin' happened this time...

@theimmortalsword kneels and prepares, simultaneously scanning the horizon.

@nomouthbutimustscream lays the Girl down in the back of the van, who doesn’t protest or insist on helping. She’s worn out, and it’s clear for anyone to see. The player then gets into the passenger seat hurriedly and searches the compartments.

Einsam tilts xer head as @the-fallen-collective climbs into the driver’s seat, head tilted to the direction of the sound. It seemed to have hurt xer ears just the slightest bit, raising a hand to xer right hand.

Malvagio whispers several curses under their breath as they quickly get inside the van, helping Einsam into a seat, hurriedly sitting next to them as both Twins buckle their own seatbelts. They close their eyes and take deep breaths, or at least attempt to.

Jack helps @windyskiez and @creatorbiaze inside the van, glancing at the Girl with slight worry. He’s obviously more focused on whatever it was he saw, though. Not quite fearful, but sure as Hell not calm.

Rosalie swallows, looking at the back of the van as Jack closes the door once everyone that can manage to be inside, is inside the van. Her voice is small, although she tries to make it sound braver and more even.

“It, uh… s-sounded like one of those… Jack, what they called?”

“𝘎𝘢𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦 𝘌𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘵 𝘝é𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘢𝘴.”

“Whazzat in English ‘gain?”

“Ah, sorry, luv. Flytraps.”

“One of those,” Rosalie murmurs, nodding. “Don’t like ‘em. But, uh… y’didn’t sound panicked about ‘em before.”

“Because… what I saw aren’t those at all.” Jack glances at the doors again, eyes glowing the slightest bit, already on the defensive. Ready to go out and fight again. “In fact, they shouldn’t even be in this sort of environme—”

Another screech rings out, but from a different direction.

“Fuckfuckfuck,” Malvagio whispers, eyes wide.

“Ring glows when there’s danger.” Rosalie turns from @itsokayto-punchnazis to look at the ring, letting out a scared hum. “Have baaad feeling, too...”

Einsam holds @the-fallen-collective close, still silent, xer expression unreadable. Xey lightly call out to @theimmortalsword, voice flat, but not impolite. “We’ll find a way. Always have.”

Malvagio worriedly taps their leg, muttering. “Perfect, great, fantastic, never a moment of peace or safety or calm, wonderful…”

“Mm? Think I’ll b’fine,” the girl murmurs in response to @nomouthbutimustscream, smiling weakly. “Jus’ tire–”

She cuts off with a tight and high-pitched cough, covering her mouth as blood flecks it a bit. Rosalie lets out an alarmed yelp, rushing over.

Jack’s “possession” only lasted so long.

“’m fi– fine, kid…” The girl pauses, before her eyes flutter and she slumps back against the wall.

The ring pulses.

“Ohh… sounds scary.” Rosalie mumbles at the response @itsokayto-punchnazis gives, looking down. Then she nods at @creatorbiaze. “.. Feel bad for the Oracles..”

She blinks, shaking her head slightly at @theimmortalsword. “Dunno.. the gun people called it that. So did Mama and Nana.”

“Mhm.” The girl murmurs in response to @nomouthbutimustscream, blinking a bit more slowly, seeming a bit more drained. “Religious bullshit, yippie…”

“It could be.” Jack nods at @windyskiez, any and all signs of some sort of light or playful personality gone for the moment. He turns to @the-fallen-collective. “As for what might be forcing her to continue, I don't kn–”

He cuts off abruptly, head snapping up and towards the van doors. He bristles, voice lowering.

“… Stay here. All of you.”

With that, he quickly moves, shifting back into mist, flying out and down one of the streets.

His hair, skin... are they just frost and particles creating an appearance?

“… That isn’t ominous at all,” Einsam mutters.

Malvagio only frowns.

“Mm-mm. We can’t summon people.” Rosalie shakes her head in response to @itsokayto-punchnazis, but watches @theimmortalsword stand up, tilting her head. She floats out of the van, looking around, trying to see where Jack went. “The Thunder brings n’ takes people. ‘s behind everything.”

Einsam is silent, continuing to offer silent comfort to @the-fallen-collective. Xey, too, are untrusting of Jack, and it shows at how xer eyes are narrowed. “… I will not let him do anything to anyone here.”

Malvagio is silent, too, but frowns at Einsam. “He’s saved our asses a lot, Ein.”

“Kindness can be an illusion, Malvagio.”

The girl turns her head to face @nomouthbutimustscream after what is said. She smiles tightly, processing everything, mumbling. “… ‘s very comfortin’.”

She turns to @windyskiez. “I honestly don’t know what’s goin’ on anymore, but Ice Man apparently sensed somethin’…”

She’s become paler once more, blinking slowly and breathing unevenly.

The ring glows again on the dashboard of the van.
