talk to me about sef's limits. what lines he will cross, what lines he will never cross & what lines he's unsure about

limits are difficult. some limits could be broken in certain situations, others could never be crossed. there’s rarely a time that any wouldn’t be crossed, but sef always tries to avoid such situations. there’s only so much he can tolerate and do. for instance,

NEVER WOULD HE DRAW A BLADE ON AN INNOCENT

it’s common sense, especially since it is a key point in the creed. yet, it stays strong to sef. yes, he would torment his brother with every chance he got, but that was never a life-or-death situation. if he was ever ordered to kill or even attack someone suspected of treason. it’s against his moral code. he needs a reason before he will draw his hidden blade or sword. and, if there is a threat of an innocent being harmed in a fight, he won’t dare to attack unless he knows he can do so without causing any harm to said person. he can’t risk ruining a family or the person’s significant person.

BUT HE WOULD DO SO IF ONE THREATENED HIS FAMILY

it partially contradicts the previous one, but his family is the most important thing to him. if someone were to dare try to harm them, they would no longer be considered innocent through his eyes. although they never harmed anyone (hopefully), they had attempted, and he wouldn’t dare tolerate it nor take the risk for his family to be attacked once more. yes, they can take care of themselves, excluding his daughters, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to step in and help protect them given a chance.

talk to me about kadar's raison d'être

when he looks at his brother, he can’t help but smile. his brother is everything. his brother is his motivation, his guide, his inspiration. he is his driving force, and makes him be the best he can. in everything he does he wants to make malik proud, because for so long, they have been each other’s only FAMILY. their parents have be- come a distant memory for him; in memory there is only malik. since his first breath and to his last, he has had his brother.

talk to me about sef's raison d'être

when he was younger, sef had no idea what his reason in life was. he thought he was just another young boy who was meant to be an assassin as many other boys his age. but the more he grew, the more his clouded gaze seemed to clear up.

TO BE A LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS,

no matter who it was (excluding the enemies), he would always offer a hand. call it a flaw, but he had a drive to help those, even if it was towards a rival within the brotherhood. for if someone needed his help, whether it was another assassin or a stranger on the streets, he would be more than willing to help. and his help would range from either helping another stand up to putting his life on the line to make sure the other remains safe.

TO BRING FORTH FREEDOM,

it ties in with the previous one, to help others, but it to see others being forced to bend and break at another’s will managed to crawl under his skin. it may have been from his raising, but he strongly believes each person should be able to choose what happens to them (some people an aspect one can’t control. i.e. death). to see another take away those choices, to erase one’s personal identity, just fuels his drive towards freeing them more than before. although, he knows it would be a long process to give everyone such a choice, but he would fight through it.

& TO BE HAPPY

it’s the only thing sef could ever accomplish completely. no one could grant every person freedom in a single lifetime nor could helping truly be accomplished. like his father, he had been able to find a woman he loved with every fiber in him and had two daughters. what more could a man ask for than a loving family? yet, in his final moments, his accomplishment of happiness had shattered almost instantly. with racing thoughts of how his father had betrayed him– had him ASSASSINATED– to his wife and children’s safety and the impact his death would have on them, how could he have claimed he had at least lived to be happy, even in death?
