PLEASE NEVER LEAVE ME AGAIN
summary: you were apart of the Bullet Club back in Japan, but left. Now you are back, entering AEW and joining back up with the guys you call family, and maybe a little something else with Kenny…
warnings: swearing, minor angst, sadness.
Your time with Kenny in Japan was some of the fondest memories of your life. Days where it would be just the two of you, travelling on the Bullet train too and from shows, having dinner with sponsors, selling merch at the NJPW store, it allowed for you both to become even closer. You were the Bullet Club’s, specifically Kenny’s, valet while in Japan, deciding not to wrestle as it was not part of tradition for women to wrestle in Japan. You and Kenny were close, where you enjoyed each other’s company, opting to sleep in the same hotel room so you each had someone to confide in when some days would be lonely. But as time went on you had fallen deeply for Kenny, loving his little quirks and charm that he would lay on you daily. He wouldn’t admit it, but Kenny had been in love with you way before you guys began travelling together, starting back when you both entered ROH as rookie’s and ever since, he knew you were the one. It was the day where Kenny was fighting in the G1 tournament and all the members of the Elite were in Japan, a big reuniting moment as you picked up Matt, Nick, Adam and Cody from the airport. “Y/N!” Adam exclaimed excitedly as the boys met up with you and Kenny in the busy airport. You grinned and hugged Adam, someone who you would call your older brother amongst the group. Kenny watched on jealously as you hugged Adam, wishing that was him, though he was interrupted by Matt and Nick greeting him. Mentally you were stuffed, you had been meaning to tell Kenny that your contract hadn’t been renewed by NJPW, so you would have to return back to America to work the Indies. You all left the airport and caught a taxi to the boys favourite restaurant, TGI Fridays. You sat in silence, looking out the window at the passing buildings, trying to figure out how you would break the news to all of them, especially Kenny. He definitely deserves to find out before the rest of the boys. As you were deep in thought, you felt someone nudge your side causing you to jump “You okay?” It was Kenny. You sent him a small smile and nod “Uh, yeah, just peachy.” You immediately regretted your words, knowing he would notice your lie causing you to sigh “We need to talk.” You whispered so only he could hear and he looked at you worriedly, before nodding “When we get back to the hotel?” You asked him and he nodded once more before being called by Matt.
You were now back at the hotel with Kenny, where you flopped down onto your bed with a deep sigh as Kenny closed the door behind him. “What’s up Y/N?” He asked softly, sitting down beside you and looking back at you. The minute you looked up at him tears pooled into your eyes, and you let out a sob “Hey, hey, hey.” He pulled you up and into his arms in a tight hug “What’s wrong?” He asked and you took some deep breaths to calm yourself down “Kenny, I didn’t get offered a contract.” You whimpered and he pulled away from you, holding you at half an arms length “What?” He asked and you sniffed, wiping your falling tears “They aren’t renewing my contract.” You told him and Kenny began shaking his head profusely “No, no, we are a package they can’t just do that.” He stated and you smiled sadly “If you go, I go, it’s simple.” Those words stunned you and you slapped his shoulder “Don’t be stupid!” You exclaimed annoyed and he shrugged “Y/N I need you here with me.” He blurted and your shoulders fell in sadness “I’ve been in talks with Ring of Honour, they offered me a contract.” You told him and he sighed, eyes looking anywhere but you “Listen, maybe when you, Matt and Nick get smaller contracts for one time shows in London again, I can come with you!” You tried to reason, noticing how heartbroken he was “We’ve been travelling together for years now, they can’t just do this.” He grumbled and rubbed his forehead roughly. You reached over and took hold of his face “We will see each other in the future, I promise you.” Kenny looked into your eyes where he found solace in, where he found his home. His eyes flicked down to your plump lips for a fleeting moment, wanting to kiss them. He opened his mouth to talk, beg you to stay, as a last ditch effort, before the moment was interrupted by knocks at the door. Maybe it was for the best.
Little did you and Kenny know, that would be the last time you would see each other for four years.
You had recently signed with AEW, and were debuting at the All Out pay-per view to rejoin with your brothers and Kenny. You worked your ass off in the mean time at Ring of Honour, many people calling you the number one women’s wrestler in the world, because of your freakish in ring performing and work on the mic. Matt and Nick were the only one’s who knew you would be coming to AEW tonight. They had managed to hide you in the girl’s locker room with Britt, Adam’s wife. You waited anxiously for your moment to shine from beside Britt somewhere backstage “I always hear Kenny talking about you, you know.” Britt told you and you blushed, even after all these years Kenny was still as handsome as ever “I think I messed up four years ago.” You told her, not taking your eyes off of the monitor where Kenny was wrestling Christian Cage. “I love him, and I never told him.” Britt grinned, knowing Kenny felt exactly the same way from all the stories Adam had told her. “You better get going.” She nudged you as the match ended and pushed you gently towards the gorilla “Good luck! Go get your man!” She yelled as you ran down the maze like halls. As you arrived to the gorilla, Adam was just walking down the ramp to the ring “Alright Y/N, here, good luck and welcome!” Tony smiled handing you a mic as Adam’s music died down. You watched the small monitor, awaiting for your que to enter from the Matt as discussed, excitement bubbling in the pit of your stomach. As Matt took the mic, he looked over at Adam and you made your way up the stairs “The Elite is back together baybay!” The crowd screamed and cheered. You began making your way up the steps, bringing the mic up to your lips “Woah, woah, woah, woah!” You walked out onto the stage and the roar of the crowd met your ears, almost deafening. Kenny felt like he was dreaming, maybe he had been hit during his match and was imagining you walking down to the ring. “I think you are forgetting the best member.” You grinned, sending Kenny a wink, who was stood in shock, as you walked up the steel steps and onto the apron where Nick parted the ropes for you to enter. “Now,” You paused looking at all the boys “The Elite is back together, baybay!” You dropped the mic and turned to Kenny “No way.” He grinned and you laughed nodding, he shoved his belt against Don’s chest, before walking over and pulling you in for a hug. The crowd was going nuts as you hugged him back “God I missed you.” He spoke loudly into your ear and you smiled pulling away as Matt and Nick hugged you at the same time, followed by Adam, then Doc and Karl.
Backstage you sat with the Kenny in a quiet area “I cannot believe you are here Y/N.” He said in disbelief and you chuckled “I missed you Ken, I missed doing so much with you.” You admitted, though you had to stop the other part from coming out. Kenny shook his head with a large smile, resting against the wall “Everyday I regret not staying with you.” You told him sincerely, not looking away for a moment, admiring the same features you missed dearly. “Nothing was the same after you left.” He responded and your heart broke “I also wasn’t truthful to you back then, I thought maybe it would make things easier but it just made things worse.” You brought your hands up to rest on his cheeks “I love you, I always have.” Kenny’s eyes widened at your words causing you to purse your lips, waiting for him to say something. But when he didn’t you dropped your hands with a sigh and looked down at the ground in embarrassment. You knew you shouldn’t have said anything. Though Kenny pulled you in by the waist, his forehead gently coaxing your head up, and kissed you passionately. Your eyes fluttered shut and you kissed him back, wrapping your arms around his neck. After a few moments he pulled away, causing your eyes to open and you made eye contact “Please never leave me again.” His eyes said it all, and you felt horrible. You shook your head “Never, never again.” He smiled and you brought him in for another hug “I have always loved you Y/N.” He admitted from where his head rest safely in the crook of your neck, his breath fanning across your skin causing you to giggle as his scruff tickled you.
