I can say I'm heavily involved with my parish considering I've been at the church everyday for the past four days. However, it wasn't always like this. Back then it was really simple: practice on Saturday and then Mass on Sunday, and that was it for the week. Now I'm on-call for special-occasion Masses and even practicing on weekdays. I have befriended some really cool and talented musicians who sing with my choir for the 8AM Sunday Mass, but sometimes I think about how it was when we were literally "tagpi-tagpi." There were so little of us, but we were so close to each other and we were such a solid group that if one of us went AWOL, it wouldn't feel the same and our sound would become crippled. I genuinely miss those times back then when it was so simple and compact. I'm not saying I don't like how it is now, on the contrary I enjoy it, but sometimes I can't help but just think back of how things used to be.
