ina v. uru
Indonesia got a beating when they hosted Uruguay yesterday night. Uruguay showed their class as they put in 7 goals into Indonesia's net. However, Uruguay put a shift in late in the first half, after Indonesia put a shock to their system when Boaz Salossa scored in the 17th minute.
Many Indonesian fans slammed the teams performance, criticizing them heavily. Personally for me it is a decent try. Uruguay are a world-class side. They finished 4th in the recent world cup, while Indonesia's last appearance in the world cup was in 1938. The nation's target is to win the AFF Cup this December, and it is still a long way to go for them.
There are many positives to be taken from this match. Boaz looked lively up front. The national team debutants; Benny Wahyudi, Ahmad Bustomi, Oktavianus Maniani, and Yongki Aribowo played really well. What they can take from this match is the experience for the upcoming tournament.
The next match against Maldives, Alfred Riedl should shuffle the starting XI, especially the defense. Replace Nova Arianto with Irfan Raditya and M. Nasuha with Yesaya Desnam, so that Maman can be shifted as a right back. It is a friendly after all, so they have got nothing to lose.
