Perdie is a lot less fearful of Georgette these days and will get up close. She even shows affiliative interest in Happy, although she also pushes Happy around when she wants to feed. Here she is investigating Happy’s eartag.

Happy Perdie love
I witness a touching affiliative display by Happy approaching Perdie peacefully to sniff her face. Perdie immediately went into defensive mode, hackles up, head ready to butt, but Happy didn’t want to butt, just sniff and explore her. After a little nervous circling, Perdie calmed down and let Happy stand next to her, then nibbled her toggles.
Since Georgette grew up and started asserting her dominance, Perdie hasn’t had much affiliative touching with her herd companions, although they often browse and stand close together. Happy and Georgette often sit together touching and seem to have maintained the sisterly bond despite Georgette’s competitiveness.
Later Happy approached Perdie again inquisitively. Perdie is on heat and I think Happy may be curious about her change in smell or behaviour. Perdie became very excited, emitted a grumble like a billy-goat and examined Happy’s behind. Happy just calmly submitted. It would be great for Perdie to develop a goat friendship, but so far it looks like it’s just hormones.
