It's so strange, seeing the controversy over Blood Heir. This book has been a mystery to me from the beginning, because everytime I would pass by it on the shelves at the store, I desperately wanted to buy it, but never could. Then one day I'm going through my bookcase at home figuring out what to read next and low and behold Blood Heir is right in the center. I DO NOT have any memory of ever purchasing this book. My family said that it wasn't a gift, so I'm still confused how it came to be on my shelf.
Nevertheless, I took to reading it immediately. I had no idea there was controversy up until after finishing it.
This book took me THREE WEEKS to finish. Not that it was bad, but everything felt off about it in some way. Like I could tell there was a story there but it kept getting pushed under the rug.
Fast forward to today, when I finally finished this book and am excited to see people talking about it online, only to be met with heavy criticism.
Granted, there were more deaths than my heart could take and the romance was not up to par with what I personally wanted, but other than that I didn't have any problems with it.
Turns out, this is the second version of this book. And knowing that MAKES SO MUCH SENSE for what I read. Now I desperately want to read the original copy.
I also really want to know why this book ended up on my shelf 🤔
