As a state of being, I would say no. I’m unhappy with many things about myself and the situations leading up to me being here. I sound edgy when I say this, but being happy is very, very hard for me. There are few things and fewer people that manage to put a smile on my face, and it isn’t because I don’t put in the effort to enjoy things. I’ve spent the greater part of my adulthood finding something that I enjoy.
I think that I as a whole am a very somber being. It took me a long time to realize that I was still a person after I died, and even longer to realize that I know people who value my life and will stop at nothing to make sure I know that I’m cared for.
I think that lately, I have been happier. I do spiral, I have doubts, and mental illness takes me sometimes, but I am happier. Even if the amount of times I’ve smiled only goes up by one every year, I will count it as a positive.
For my whole, I am unhappy, but lately, I have been happier. Is this an okay answer?
