Last Friday, @tenaciouscupcakes, @emlinian, @aforestofbooks and I went to the volunteering awards at my university, and the dress code was dressing up as a favourite film or TV character, so of course we dressed up! Alex was a minion, Emma was Luna Lovegood, Siril, was Princess Merida, and I was Queen Elsa, and it was so much fun!

List six movies you could watch anytime, then tag at least six people to do the same. I was tagged by @rollertoasteroflife, thank you Abby! This was very difficult, I love so many films! Consequently, these are in no particular order, because I am so indecisive. Additionally, I obviously couldn't include the Harry Potter movies, because then it would be even more difficult to decide which ones to choose, but it goes without saying that I could watch those movies any time. 1. Rise of the Guardians 2. Star Wars: The Force Awakens 3. Frozen 4. Book of Life 5. Guardians of the Galaxy 6. Love Actually And yet I still feel like I'm missing something. I like too many movies for this kind of thing. I tag @aforestofbooks, @etched-out-at-her-feet, @ileftmyscarfthere, @singerturnedgangster, @butterflies-turning-to-dust, and @tenaciouscupcakes.
8 Things
I was tagged by @essthedreamer, thank you Ess, and I think we may have a few similarities... (Tall, dark and handsome? Don’t mind if I do...)
One Insecurity: I worry that I'm a bad person, I like to hope that I'm good, and kind, and caring but then I have moments that make me think that I might really be mean and horrible, deep down. Two Fears: Spiders, small spaces. Three Turn-Ons: Intelligence, kindness, humour. Four Life Goals: To have at least one fiction novel that I have written published in my lifetime, to buy my own house, to marry someone I love, to be able to speak another language fluently. Five Things I Like: Chocolate, pizza, television, scented candles, cosy jumpers. Six Weaknesses: Bookshops, stationary, extremes of weather, loneliness, anxiety, shyness, Seven Things I Love: Writing, books, music, theatre, movies, photography, art. Eight People To Tag: @deaded123, @aforestofbooks, @swiftyinthetardis, @tiaras-in-space, @ileftmyscarfthere, @etched-out-at-her-feet, @ofcourseit-sinyourheadharry, @tattooedtaire.
Books That Have Stayed With You
I was tagged by @etched-out-at-her-feet. Rules: List ten books that have stayed with you in some way, then tag ten people. 1. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by J.K. Rowling (because I have read it so many times now I don't remember the first time that I read it, and I have loved it for as long as I can remember). 2. The Hogfather by Terry Pratchett (because this was the first Terry Pratchett and Discworld book that I read and it is brilliant). 3. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald (because it has beautiful imagery and incredibly intelligent symbolism). 4. The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold (because it is scary and heartbreaking and so sad and so true). 5. Black Beauty by Anna Sewell (because I have such a great love for horses and animals in general and this was such a childhood favourite and it has a very admirable message). 6. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams (because it is just so fantastic). 7. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee (because it is very insightful). 8. Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews (because I have never read another book that is so hilarious and yet so sad at the same time). 9. How I Live Now by Meg Rossoff (because even though I wouldn't say that it is one of my favourites, it is a really good book and I still think about it quite a lot of the time). 10. Fearless by Tim Lott (because I randomly picked this up in the library once and I am so glad I did because it just got to me in a way that I don't quite know how to put into words). I tag @deaded123, @aforestofbooks, @rollertoasteroflife, @ileftmyscarfthere, @tattooedtaire, @swiftyinthetardis, @butterflies-turning-to-dust, @passinnotesinsecrecy, @tiaras-in-space, @singerturnedgangster and @ofcourseit-sinyourheadharry.
Rules: 1. Always post these rules. 2. Answer the questions given by the person who tagged you and give 11 more questions. 3. Tag 11 people.
I was tagged by @butterflies-turning-to-dust, thank you, Naomi!
Questions:
1. If you had to change your name, what would you change it to? I might possibly change it to Elizabeth, because someone once told me I looked like an Elizabeth, and it is unnervingly true. If I wanted to change it to something a little different, I would probably make it a literary reference, but I can’t think of anything specific right now. But I do really like Rebecca and I would never change it.
2. Favourite books? I answered this recently in another tag, which you can find here.
3. Who are two (or more) music artists who you think should collaborate? Taylor Swift and HAIM, Taylor Swift and Ella Henderson, Ella Henderson and The Vamps, I could probably think of more.
4. Lucky number? I also answered this recently in another tag, which you can find here.
5. Best childhood memory? I have a lot of good childhood memories, so I’m not going to say that this is the best, but I do remember a wonderful holiday I had with my family in St. Malo, in Brittany, in France.
6. If you could recast one of your favourite movies, what movie would you chose, who would you cast, and why? The first thing I thought of with this was Frozen, because, although I do love the movie and I mostly think the voice actors are perfect, I’m never completely certain how I feel about the casting of Indina Menzel as Elsa. I think she’s a brilliant singer, that’s not my problem with it, I just felt like sometimes her voice didn’t quite fit with Elsa, who I thought would have had a different tone and sound of voice. There’s also the fact that Indina and Elsa are not the same age (I think Elsa is supposed to be about 21 while Indina is older), which I think is a problem because people’s voices change with their age, so I guess that’s part of the reason that it feels like it doesn’t quite fit right. It also just really annoys me when people are not cast age-appropriately.
7. Favourite breakfast food? Pancakes, or croissants, or pain au chocolat, or baked beans and scrambled eggs and sausages and toast (basically a full English without the bits I don’t like), or yoghurt (with or without mueslie), or cereal (chocolate because it makes the milk chocolate, or that cinnamon cereal), or toast with jam or chococalte spread. I LOVE BREAKFAST FOODS.
8. Favourite smell? Either vanilla or the smell you get when it rains.
9. Ideal holiday? Either with my family or some of my close friends, either to somewhere in England (e.g. London, Cambridge, the Lake District, the Peak District, Northumberland, Shropshire, etc.) or somewhere else in Europe (Paris, anywhere else in France, except maybe to far south because we went to southern France once and I wasn’t very good at dealing with the heat, or Italy, or Spain, or Norway, so I can visit @aforestofbooks).
10. Any TV show recommendations? Doctor Who, obviously (if you’ve never seen it before, I’d probably start with series one of the new Doctor Who, with Christopher Eccleston). Also, there’s a six part series by the BBC called The Game, which is excellent, and you can get it on DVD. Game of Thrones, which is good even if you haven’t read the books, because I haven’t read them yet and I still enjoy the show. Strictly Come Dancing has just started again and I love to watch that, so I’d recommend that for a bit of fun reality TV, that’s not completely tacky.
11. Which celebrity would you most like to meet? Either Taylor Swift or Emma Watson, I think. Taylor, because I need to tell her how much influence she and her music have had in my life, and Emma, because I’ve looked up to her since I was, like, 6 or something. Both of them are such great inspirations to me, and I like to think I’d get along with both of them quite well.
I tag: @deaded123, @aforestofbooks, @swiftyinthetardis, @passinnotesinsecrecy, @paraswift13, @vintageswift-13, @tattooedtaire, @etched-out-at-her-feet, @ileftmyscarfthere, @swiftyhearts13, and @ofcourseit-sinyourheadharry.
And I ask: 1. What is a song that makes you happy? 2. Who was the last person you held hands with? 3. Do you think you have any bad habits? 4. Do you have a favourite blog? 5. Have you ever met anyone famous? 6. Do you have any enemies? (Even if it's just that woman who stands outside Budgens with the mental Jack Russell). 7. How do you feel about rain? 8. Are you excited for Halloween? 9. Do you have a favourite film soundtrack? 10. Who is your favourite fictional villain? 11. Do you like to do any sports?
aforestofbooks said: Still haven’t seen this :O
Oh my gosh, you'll love it! It made me feel so nostalgic but it was so brilliant and funny and just all round fantastic. Plus, Evanna Lynch actually played Luna, and anything with Evanna in it is going to be amazing, obviously.
