All the 2019 AfricaCom Awards Winners

The winners of the 12th annual AfricaCom Awards were recently announced. The 2019 AfricaCom Awards held in Cape Town. At the ceremony, some of the best technology, media and telecommunications industry elites were recognized. This year’s AfricaCom Awards was a huge success with many industry execs commending the awards.  This year two new award categories were added, these categories gathered a lot of praise from attendees.  One category recognized top women in innovation in Africa and the other for Government Leadership.

About the Newly Introduced Awards Recognizing the Contribution of Women to the Development of Africa

This new award category was added this year and it was introduced to add weight to the call for gender parity in the industry. It does this by showcasing the incredible achievements of each of the women nominated for the award. The winner of the inaugural Female Innovator of the year is Elisabeth Medou Badang, senior vice president Africa and Indian Ocean, Orange. Elisabeth is passionate about women-empowerment initiatives such as the France Telecom Group Strategic committee on gender equality and a proud campaigner for digital transformation.
